Well done for your efforts. Too much to ask for !? but, I think the Board (a member) and Owner both need to be there or you just end up walking away - confused, without any real answers, etc etc Yeah my dream lineup would be: Wael - Starnes - Hamer Maters - Coughlan Lacks width, and Starnes and Hamer are very similar, they don't compliment each other.

This is the shocking state of affairs. When I contacted Hamer several months ago (some of you may remember this) to try to organise a Norwich -style supporters cash injection to build/set up the training ground. Hamer replied to me that the owner didn't want supporters to put money in, he would fund it................the months roll by so frustrating, so depressing. Nothing happening here.
They wont ever build anything for Bristol Rovers on that land because it would show actual commitment
They did put an application in for three barn conversations to residential property on the site last year but S G Council threw the application out because not all the relevant reports to back up the application were submitted. So AQ do have some plans for the site.

'Had', perhaps.

Well the application was for only part of the site and does appear to be a half hearted effort, with no application re-submitted.But that could be said of a lot of the things they have done.

Didn't they announce they had contracted some official firm of consultants to deal with the Colony development?

Dwayne sports used Kendall kingscott who made a very basic error with the application which was not to submit a ecology report requested by the council. Having worked on planning consultations I can assure you that such reports are a formality.

Right at the start Hamer, perhaps inadvertently, gave the answers as to why there will always be a disconnect with the owners and the fans.
When addressing rather condensendingly it has to be said, about how the ownership of BRFC is now set out share wise (its frigging by the way) what he said was that any developments regarding stadia or training ground are private and should be left to the owners to decide to invest/purchase/sell.
It isn’t, it really frigging isn’t and it’s complete arrogance on the board and their representatives if they think it is. It’s insulting to every fan, past, present and future to be treated that way. BRFC isn’t an international brand, like MUFC or Russian Mafia Stamford Bridge Division. It’s a local club, supported and sponsored by local people in the main who have invested in Rovers through the years.
We absolutely deserve a whole lot better than the ALQs have done for us so far, and quite frankly, we deserve to know the real reasons why UWE collapsed, why they are dragging their heels to get things going and by asking for a clear plan for the future.
I can’t believe that Hamer and co keep peddling that line and think it’s acceptable.
As for masters, is that really the best the SC can appoint to act on behalf of fans and the SC? My goodness. Equally as feckless as the people running it.

Yes they have employed two different agents one for the training ground other for residential application. With what has been achieved so far I don't know why they bothered with either.

I can't get my head round why they insist on running the club as their own personal fiefdom even though they patently don't appaear to have the finance, or are willing to commit the finance, to the training ground......although having said that I guess it muddies the waters with regards to the sale of the club. Suspend disbelief and imagine if the fans paid for the training ground build. How would the Al Qadi's factor in the value of the training ground into the asking price of the club when they didn't pay for the build? Could be messy I guess. That could be said about any of the owners in the past lord knows how many years Difference is the old board, despite their faults, supported Bristol Rovers. There was a Nutella reason why they were at the club. These lot, f*ck knows

Yet again our arrogant owners have wheeled out the Chairman to attempt to fob us all off and it totally failed in my opinion. Actions speak louder than words and our owners total non actions clearly tell me we are as far away from a new ground as we have ever been. As for the recent statement about another site falling through, just a total lie as far as I am concerned.

As far as i know the current owners are the only people in the world prepared to give a rovers manager a mid table budget in the modern inflated market. The old board took out a reckless high interest loan and prolonged a hopeless legal case against sainsbury's but luckily for them the present owners bailed them out. But they were good old gasheads mind you. All iv'e seen under wael is an improved football club something i never saw before.

I'm not being aggressive I am genuinely interested in why you think this. I personally sense we are completely rudderless, we don't have any senior people at the club who really give two hoots about Rovers, our debt levels are significantly higher (and by the way to service Nick Higg's loan would have cost less than we are currently paying for DS's London office)
