Before you send if can you take out the phrase "we the fans" please? You're not THE fans, you're some fans. 1,000 signatories isn't even all of the season ticket holders so it's a little presumptuous to refer to yourselves as THE fans. Surely if the letter is signed by fans then "we the fans" refers to the fans that signed the letter. Just like if I signed a letter "love Hugo" I'm not expressing love on behalf of every Hugo that exists. You'd think that'd be obvious really!

No thanks. That's a pretty anodyne response by the way. The petition is signed by 1,000 people and purports to speak on behalf of at least ten, maybe even forty, times that number. It clearly doesn't. Where as just you on your own have a better mandate than nearly 1000 signatories? Feel free to not sign the petition but you're being silly here. What has mandate got to do with anything? No one is mandated by anyone to do anything here. My point is perfectly valid - you're not the fans.

I am sure the owners will do due diligence & realise that "we the fans" are the ones who signed the letter. If you don't like it then don't sign it It's got nothing to do with whether I like it or not. Whether I've signed it or not is similarly irrelevant to the point I've made.

I mean, you've just waddled on here demanding we change the wording that nearly 1000 people have agreed to because you don't like the semantics. One bloke demanding we retroactively change what all those people have already signed without clearing it with them. I suspect troll tbh but the good faith answer is:

Thanks to everyone who has signed so far. If you haven't yet then please do as more signatures will make the board take more notice. Here is the email I've sent to Steve Hamer this afternoon: Hi Steve, I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year. I'm writing to you today to present this open letter to the board signed by almost 1000 fans: www.change.org/p/wael-al-qadi-open-letter-to-the-board-of-bristol-rovers-football-clubThis letter clearly states out where we think the failings of the boards communication have been and where this can be improved. Since this petition was started we have had an update on the stadium and training ground which is a case in point about the communication issues. On the 23rd of December the club put out this statement: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/december/club-statement/ The timing, coming after a crucial win made supporters feel like it had been held back until there was some good news to report. It states that the club is working hard towards a site for the stadium and training ground which is good news in itself. However this contradicts statements about re-developing the Mem and it doesn't update supporters on the status of the Colony. If supporters were kept in the loop that you were holding off on developing the Colony while other sites are investigated then there would be a lot less frustration about it doing nothing except growing weeds. I am happy to speak to you over the phone or in person to speak about the above. Cheers Tom

Is Hamer still around? We've not heard anything since he stumbled around on having a gas kind of saying that DC would be backed in January only for him to be sacked / resign 2 weeks later...been Starnes show since then...

Fwiw I'd leave out that stuff about the Dec 23rd release. That's just a red herring. Everyone says they want more communication, but they really don't. What they want is to be told what they want to be told. Anything else is just proof to them that the board are sh**e.
Istm our fans will whine about any sort of communication unless it's announcing Messi on a free and the opening of our new all-seater stadium with standing area.
So that should read 'case in point, our fans will whine about any communication so why am I even bothering to ask you for it?'

Why do people want the owners to repeat the same things over and over again? They've explained that the Uwe wasn't a good deal for the club and, as the training ground was part of that, anyone with an ounce of common sense would see the connection. What do you want them to say that's any different?

What do you want them to say that's any different? I think most fans would be happy with some sort of statement that suggests just what sort of plan they are working towards. The "these things take time" excuse is wearing just a mite thin now.

Yes but didn't they say they were looking at a site that could have a ground and training ground together, but it didn't work out. Surely that explains why it has not happened yet. If that are looking at alternative sites, then went build the colony, if that works prefer to build both together of possible. Expect that age re-evaluating again now, do we really need an update spelling that out??

I suppose it depends on whether you believe the last statement about "Many months of effort, and not inconsiderable cost, have been put into this possibility of a new stadium and training ground development." Personally I have my doubts and the timing of the statement was suspicious to say the least. Being completely honest, I've given up any hope of a stadium being built/redeveloped AND the training ground getting sorted under this inept regime.

Not until the following year though. But they can't hide it long term. We know they were looking into Uwe or others when the last accounts were published. As they wrote off over a million. They wouldn't have spent that, looking into it, of they didn't want to do it.
