In the light of what’s happened LMW I think you’re probably right. UTG!

Yes, the evidence would point to you being correct. But regarding Wael, I guess he did tweet on the day it happened so tbf he did respond. Whether we think it’s enough is another matter but in the end what else could he say? UTG!
Sometimes managers can be victims of their own success. Holloway had the same at Blackpool, overachieved then as soon as things started going downhill he was out.
I wonder if DC would still have a job if we didn't get promoted to L1, but instead had a few seasons of finishing in the top 8 of L2? essentially it would all lead to the same thing....L2 football, yet we would get better crowds at the top end of L2 than the bottom end of L1 and I think THAT was the final straw for the owner when the crowds dropped.
Good points and all true but I think DC would still be in post if not for his silly rant, anyone in the know in any organisation just can't blab information publicly which the owners didn't want shared irrespective how obvious...he betrayed his position of trust and therefore could never be entrusted with sensitive information again and that made his position as manager untenable. Its a great shame because although I believe he lost 'form' as manager, he would have regained it and take us to safety this season and developed the team in subsequent seasons

Good post. Yes I can see you point about making things public that should be dealt with behind closed doors. I think its just pure frustration in that nothing was going right on or off the pitch. It's no excuse to vent his feeling publically, but it seems he was made false promises to about the new stadium and training ground. I know the training ground especially was important to him. Maybe he did want an 'out' with an agreed pay-off, but that's something we wont know for a while if ever. I've criticised him for slow transfer dealings (especially in the summer) and playing out-of-form players but he does seem to get it right eventually. I think he was right, we could well be a team that yo-yo's between L1 and L2, so from a football perspective maybe this was inevitable regardless of his comments.

Its an interesting what if, suspect Bodin would have still moved on up to L1 but Ellis having come through the ranks might of not had the same temptation that a championship club offered. You'd think there was some financial incentive from being a L1 club though whether sponsorship percentages or final league placing payout.

Also Taylor may not have moved on as he wouldn't have been seen scoring goals in L1 but someone would have taken a punt eventually.
I guess there is obviously financial rewards being in L1 but the wage bill would have increased through bonus' for achieving promotion so that would have swallowed a big percentage of it.
It will certainly be an interesting couple of months now though!!

This Club cannot keep making such stupid mistakes - grow up Wael - and admit your mistakes This could be a very signicant post. It is all about mistakes but, as I’ve posted before, the wealthy usually find a way of making sure someone else pays for their mistakes. Rovers, meaning Rovers supporters, need a Plan B

He lost his job because we look like were going to get relegated imo.

Is that another rumour?? So a mistake cost us now?? If a mistake stopped a takeover, they couldn't have been that interested. They had to come up with something, to say why it had not happened though I suppose.

Dear Wael, hope you got the letter And, I pray you can make it better round here. I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer. But all the people that bought season tickets, See them freezing on their feet, 'Cause they don't get enough covered seats, From Wael. I can't believe in you. Dear Wael, sorry to disturb you, But I feel That I should be heard loud and clear We all need a big reduction in amount of tears And all the people that follow Bristol Rovers, See them fighting in the street 'Cause they can't make opinions meet About Wael. I can't believe in you Did you pay for the shop, and the new bars too? Did you pay for all the tents, Or do we still owe you? And Hani too! Dear Wael, don't know if you noticed But your name is on a lot of quotes on Facebook Us crazy Gasheads wrote it, You should take a look And all the people that use social media Still believing that junk is true Well I know it ain't, so do you. Dear Wael. I can't believe in... I don't believe in... I won't believe what Hamer has to tell No forwards, no defence, no DC as well New Mem gates, no new ground You're always letting us Gasheads down Starnes you bring, nothing to say Those lost at home and then away And it's the same for the whole groud The hurt I see helps to compound That Fathers, Sons and Hamers boasts Were just somebody's unholy hoax And if you're up there you perceive That my heart's here upon my sleeve If there's one thing I don't believe in.... It's you Dear Wael. With apologies to XTC Dear God g.co/kgs/Ymxu4k

It was just a reference to Knowall's post. Istm he has made a mistake, and should probably just admit it, instead of stringing us along, further.
