Having looked at the options available I can't see anyone with a better record of recruitment than Holloway. With his links to Gary Penrice in his current role I think he would make good use of the transfer window. I think fans views are clouded by his history with us which I realise we can't ignore. Any other Third Division threatened side would think that Holloway was probably out of reach for them. If he was interested I can't see a better candidate on offer at the moment. Any idea where abouts he lives these days?

To me it's an absolute no brainer. Being Ollie back until the end of the season and then relook once he has KEPT US UP !
Wael has to swallow his pride if he thinks Ollie has said in the past a few things which do not "tow the line". In the predicament we are in experience is a key factor.
Furthermore the fact he really genuinely loves the club and would be under real pressure to perform makes it a very interesting proposition. Whilst everything is a gamble, Ollie is putting his neck on the line and really does not need to …… The owners cannot lose in my opinion. OFFER HIM THE JOB and stop wasting time.
In Summary, There really are no other choices from that list …..

We dont know who has applied. The only names we have are from the bookies Maybe there are better candidates

Pros: Ollie is a Gashead, he is passionate, he is honest, he has connections, the fans love him
Cons: He is honest (the owners won't like him telling a few home truths) .....that's about it really!

Wonder if he said we needed someone with experience, when he took over as player manager, all those years ago lol. I know things can change, but it's funny him saying the club need experience, when he managed us without any experience at all.

The fact he used his column to slate the owners in an unrealistic and unprofessional way shows simply that he isn't the right man. That article confirms that he's years behind the times and generally talks nonsense. He loves the club. So much so that he openly wanted QPR to beat us.

Cannot understand why this forum are discussing who the new manager is going to be, forget all the candidates because it ain't gonna happen we will carry on with our caretakers for now until the Board make an announcement which will be something along the lines of... We have had a lot of Applicants for the role but have decided to give the position to our Caretakers why ? because it will be the CHEAPEST OPTION ! UTG !

I think he knew very well that he would leave the owners no option after he post Doncaster match interview (Not that i would blame him !)

There's only so much a non quitter can handle before he says "that's enough", like being let down on training ground, new Stadium, budget to replace £1m players sold and released, and everything else Al Qadi promised him.

He’s gone he didn’t want two relagations on his CV so by mutual agreement he left,he wasn’t promised anything and didn’t complain during the two promotions he and others achieved, its easy too blame training grounds etc but his preseason dealings caught up with him and his tinkering so time for change but a sad day but the right decision I’m afraid.
