I’m not saying that at all, I was and I remain a really big fan of DC but he lost the plot this season regarding team selection and tactics and I think a change of manager has been a really good thing for the club as Coughlan obviously has been able to get the best out of a squad that we all knew had ability but lacked confidence and direction and he’s now found the right combination of players to go forward with. My point was that we were all quick to write off players such as Upson, Rodman and Reilly but they have now started to flourish under new leadership. Im not disagreeing on principle ,but for me two things have been/were wrong with DC's recruitment, and that was the players he paid fees for, nearly all of them IMO would have been reasonable signings on a free the fact that they weren't raises our expectation of them. The second thing is with the likes of Upson and Rodman etc their quality is and has always been known for all to see. I think of it as a jigsaw puzzle he got in all the right pieces he just kept placing them in the wrong places ! Agree to some extent but he didn't get the goalscorers to replace MT and BB. Most will say it's difficult to do but as we've seen Nichols and Mensah have failed miserably.
