It would have to be an extremely cheeky bid unless Hani received a money tree for Xmas. Way out of our budget and wages I fear. Probably but you Can forgive them if they try and fail but you can't if they fail to try. Very true, but we have already been told that players have to leave before we can bring anyone else in so I think it is a non starter. Problem with loan players is once they do well their price increases. If he was out of favour at a league 1 club I think we might have had an outside chance.

I would sign him now he has scored more goals in the past few days than Nichols has in the past 15 months!. Perhaps we could offer Watford a couple hundred thousand plus Nichols (although I think they would just take the money).

I'd seriously look at a bid for him in January. I'm really pleased that GC is giving a loan signing a run in the team.
He's just started to show what he can do. If you loan players it makes sense to give them game time and a run in the team.
Remember, it wasn't that long ago that Ollie Mcburnie couldn't get a game for us.
In the short time I've seen him I have to say I'm impressed with his all round game. I'd definitely test Watfords resolve in January...

Heard it from someone at the game yesterday, shame he isn’t, if he scores 10more between now and the end of the season he’ll be off to a champ club and we’ll have no chance Imo I think you are talking 💩 from planet crap. so who told you this?

Being a bit more serious though, we had Cureton and Roberts on loans then went onto sign them for fee after they started scoring goals, so it can be done, but will our owners put their hands in their pockets and stump up ?.

Jakubiak is now 22 I believe - A prem academy will have loads better on their books since he earned his first pro contract. I can't imagine Watford really think he is going to make it with them and unless he scores loads in the remainder of his loan spell it is unlikely they will expect big offers to come in. It's well worth making the enquiry now IMO. If Payne is burning his bridges with us and doesn't have a future is it worth reigniting our interest in Devante Cole? Is it Burton he's with on loan? I don't recall him featuring much.

I don’t think we’ve got the required cash.
Best thing we can do- is support the chap and give him fond thoughts of rovers. Maybe:
- he will come back - he will tell other talented kids that this is a great place to come.
First league goal at club end could be fun. Gasheads have taken a shinning to him.

We win 3 games and fans lose their minds. FFS, it's no wonder owners disregard their views. It's pathetic.. Rovers fans know a good striker when they see one, at nearly every opportunity he’s been given, Jakubiak has impressed and the last 4 games he’s been really really good. I guess people just don’t want to see a repeat of Telford whereby we let a decent loanee striker slip through our hands to another club. Dom Telford? Decent loanee? 3 goals in 20 appearances in League 2?

Definitely worth a cheeky bid, whether personal terms may be more of a sticking point, though. If resources are scarce, would Bonham be a higher priority? With regards to the personal terms, I know Watford are a Prem side but Jak isn’t a first team member so wages, etc, might be a lot lower and therefore more attainable than we think. Yeah, probably only £15k a week or so...

I hate this defeatist attitude we have. Yes, we probably don't have much chance of getting him but we can at least try.

Decent loanee? 3 goals in 20 appearances in League 2? There were many calls to sign him when he was released by Stoke. Many of those appearances were made with him only have 10-15 minutes on the pitch and like Jakubiak he demonstrated his ability to score in Checkatrade and reserve games. The fact that he's continued his goalscoring form alongside Byron Moore at Bury, despite being limited for game time, suggests he does have something about him. Would have preferred to sign him over Nichols, that's for sure.

Yeah, probably only £15k a week or so... and that figure is from? Just a guess, and likely an exaggeration. However the average wage for a premier league player is now over £50k a week. Even as an under-23 player, Jakubiak is likely to be earning multiples of the £2-3k a week we would stretch to.
Since you ask the question, as you think he would be affordable - where do you get that assumption from?

If Locks goes we can afford him and Bonham then give Rollin and Tom B another go or James Clarke.

He’s only had one game where he’s been great and a handful where he’s done ok or poor if we put in a bid then it shouldn’t be more than 100,000 . I’d rather we kept him on loan for the rest of the season and signed someone who’s banged them in at this level but that’s easier said than done.
