It’s abundantly clear that we desperately need a couple of players in through the door , it would seem that our inept owners are happy to gamble on our league 1 status by thus far bringing in no one , like I said previously, I genuinely think we will go down if we don’t bring anyone in ! But, do we know they haven’t tried to do so and been pushed back? Given previous posts/threads on here about how things are kept close to their chests it’s not surprising that there is no news on this. Think we need to wait until the end of the month to know. I really hope things are going on behind closed doors , I still think we are way too slow and not as proactive as other clubs in the transfer market, other teams react almost immediately to get their top targets where we just seem to take forever.

Only if we get a very good deal. He only has six months left of his contract.

Clearly a very good footballer and like Michael Smith did, has plenty of critics among our fanbase who give no leeway to our young players . He obviously has a lot to learn and will do the more games he gets. I for one would not argue against the thoughts of scouts employed by the likes of West Ham.

GC has clearly stated he wanted certain players but couldn’t get them so that’s it...I still think smith could go on loan by the end of the month and can’t see anyone taking a chance on any of our younger players... League 2 teams are really pumping the money out on players Where does GC clearly state that? All I have heard him say is that if players who are available are better than what we have he will do his utmost to get them in the door. Does January and the transfer window remain an ongoing issue for you? “It is not an issue for me. I have said all along what we have got here we will work with but if someone better crops up I will be all over it. “I know what I want but that is not out there, that is not available and it is pointless me going out and just gathering players. “If that quality player pops up and think he will improve this squad I will go and get him. In other words there’s no money to get better players he wants but there is no money so that’s it!

If that is the case, I find it embarrassing that we aren't able to find or afford a loan or two to come in and improve this side.

Pete O’Rourke seemingly has some good contacts and has got a few right in the past.

Not being funny, but if we haven't got a pit to pi$$ in, what exactly is the point of Tommy Widdrington our head of recruitment? He must have the cushiest job ever!!

Shown potential but has struggled for me. Often makes the wrong decision and doesn't close down crosses properly.

Utter codswallop. Barely L1 standard at present.

Utter codswallop. Barely L1 standard at present. Exactly what loads said about Michael Smith but in that case barely league two standard at best. Had a good few years in the Championship and now a regular for Hearts and Northern Ireland. Far better than any right backs we have had since he left us.

That’s one of the most frustrating things of our club that there’s money chucked at roles that don’t really do much and no money spent on the field roles, Do we still employ that Ed guy who was gonna be some stat whizz pulling in all his experience of bundesliga to bring in players? We clearly need a couple of quality loan signings that will spice it up and everyone else is strengthening up( not that all their signings will be a hit) but the fact that if THD/rodman/jak get injured we’re f**ked simple as, I’m convinced the board have sat down and think oh well if we end up in league 2 nevermind as we’ll always have good gates receipts because of our following

Smith was good, had pace and didn't need help from his winger, Kelly was torn to shreds at Walsall when one on one, gives the ball away with poor passes, yet to see him surge forward and beat his opposite number and get a cross in, he will have to improve greatly, which he may do, to be a good prospect for a top L1 team let alone Championship, as for West Ham they must have much better young fullbacks than Kelly.

The difference between league one to league two is £200,000. Championship is £4.5m League 1 is £675,000 League 2 is £475,000
So basically what we wasted on payne

"Bombed out" after playing 133 times for them. Looked a good player for us and deservedly won our Player of the Year award during the 12–13 season.
