Bristol Rovers have expressed interest in signing Wigan Athletic winger Leonardo da Silva Lopes on loan this window. #brfc #wafc He’s more of a midfield and we aren’t short of options in that area. Peterborough fans were incredulous that they managed to get £1m for him in the summer and he’s found it difficult to get into a struggling Wigan team. One I would avoid personally.

Max Power [Wigan - Sunderland] Undisclosed Great signing that. Thats a signing that will bolster your chances of promotion and see you stay in the Championship should you make it. He has been there all season on loan, just made it permanent.

Sounds like Coughlan is already working on a couple of targets? If I get the job then I have got a long list, I know the division inside out, I have been in the division for the last 10 years so know the players, the opposition and the quality of the division and which players are available, I know all about it. Pressed on whether he is currently in a position to make transfers, Coughlan said: "Like I say there is one or two players out there I would bring in tomorrow to help out the football club and the CEO and the owners have backed me with everything I have done so far, they put their hand in their pocket for a Nandos the other day. "Now I am sure a player coming in might be a little more expensive but they have backed me and they have been very transparent and it has been good working with them. "But there are players out there I would like to bring to the football club sooner rather than later and I will work away on those players." www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/graham-coughlan-discusses-january-transfer-2380941 Love this...a new player might be a little more expensive than a Nandos! I guess it's a slight step up from Poundland! #evolution

I think GC is in the same boat as DC......He can only get someone in if he shifts someone out, and that is only a wage thing. I don't think there will be any money available for transfers. The other problem, as mentioned by GC, is that as he is only a Caretaker, he doesn't have any authority to sign players.......and the transfer window clock is already ticking. The owners have to make a decision, and make it very very quickly. Joe Martin will leave and I expect Adam Smith will follow him out the door, considering he’s keen to leave and there is interest in him so that is a couple of players wages that we can potentially throw at a loan or two. Can’t see us paying any substantial fees but if we clear the decks of a couple I’m hopeful we will see 2-3 coming in. Happy with that. Andre would make a good backup keeper and would love to be involved.

Seemingly Martin might extend his stay according to GC in another BP article today. As far as Smith if he leaves then we'll need a replacement or Slocombe to return, as we can't risk having no experienced goalie as back to Bonham (assuming he stays).

Yeah, I had Scunny down as one of the teams we'll need to finish above. Hopefully they won't get their act together.

Like others have said anyone expecting any significant signings are going to be extremely disappointed, I can’t see anyone coming in. The owners still haven’t addressed the managers position and we are now into January, let’s be honest we’re never really too proactive in the transfer market as we’re left picking up the scraps that are left over as every other team seem to act quicker on their targets than we do, other teams around us have already started strengthening where as we........
