Alfie Kilgour scored again tonight for Maidenhead. According to the Maidenhead Advertiser newspaper he "has been in imperious form" recently. “He’s been brilliant for us and for the boy to be getting National League experience week in and week out at his age, that’s a brilliant education,” said assistant boss Sam Lock. I've not seen much of Kilgour, the fact he's been given a new contract after being injured makes me think Rovers must rate him. Any thoughts on his chances of making the 1st team with us Pirate ?

Due to his injuries I've not seen a lot of him either, but this loan will do him the world of good. Hopefully he comes back in the summer and pushes hard for a first team spot.

From watching him in previous years in the Youth/Development squads I'd say he's very much one for the future. Mature beyond his years, both on and off the pitch, I can see him as a fixture at CB for many seasons.

He started off as a midfielder for the Academy but been a CB for a while. He is a mature lad - when I spoke to him - very down-to-earth. Scored last night - again- in The National League for Maidenhead.

What about Rollin? Have been impressed with him, and he went out on loan to Div 2 club

Mo and Deon had no game time at Bath, both now back with the 23s. Report back to training on 4th I believe. Both came back apparently

Talking of Bath City I know a few of their fans and they are raving about Joe Raynes.
I saw him for Frome a season or two back and he looked very decent then.

Got MoM. Very impressive 23yr old Bathonian(?) Cool and composed on the ball. Played on the right of a three man defence. I hope we're
having a look at him.

He played mostly as an attacking midfielder last season for Frome and scored quite a few goals. He is very versatile but has mainly played as a right back this season I think, he certainly played there earlier in the season when he scored in a couple of games against Weston-super-Mare.

Looks like he has a decent long range shot on him too. The way we play we would depend on that!

Bagdadi and Moore, what's happened to them, neither were in the development squad yesterday. The trouble when you put 3 players into the dev squad and a trialist, 4 dev squad miss out, even if they have precious few games. Always seems a bit unfair to me, giving more game time to players that haven't done so well at the expense of younger players that want to progress.

A development side is for developing young players but it’s also sort of replaced the old fashioned reserve sides so it’s the best chance for 1st team fringe players to get game time. As well as the fact that young players arguably learn more from playing with more experienced older pros. It may be more beneficial for those that are playing to play with a few 1st teamers.

I have to respectfully disagree, when the 23s have so few games, they need all the playing time they can get, trying a first teamer, who, lets face it has had 2 years to show his worth, at the expense of a young'un, is in my opinion very wrong indeed. CH seems to have taken his eye off the ball with the 23s. After Saturdays performance, I personally would replace every single one of the 1st team (except Bonham) with an U23. At the very least they will run their heart out for the chance to suceed, not turn turtle to have their tummies tickled. After all, as someone famous once said: "You won't win anything with kids".

We obviously disagree on the first point but fair enough. I do agree with giving a few young ones a bit more game time in the first team though. Maybe not replacing the whole team with development players. But when we have been as poor as we have been at times this season (going forward especially), I think it's got to be worth giving one or two of the younger ones a run out. I guess the coaching staff know more about them than we do though seen as they watch them every day. They might be convinced that none of them are anywhere near good enough.
