Regardless of how far it got, IF they are delaying payment at all (and this is far from the first time this suggestion has come up) then it is very very poor form by the owners. I speak as someone who has started contracting for a small business which is suffering from dealing with clients like this and delaying payment has a very turbulent effect on the livelihoods of me and the other contractors. If you agree a bill of works and it’s carried out in good faith then pay what you owe ffs. Not saying it's right, but it's not uncommon for payments to creditors to be 'delayed'. It happens everywhere for varying reasons. Where I work we are forever contacted by people/companies chasing money, just as we chase people who owe us money That is true but this is a football club we're talking about. Who do they call having to chase money? It's not like Bristol Rovers perform a service to a giant multinational corporation and send in a monthly invoice. They have to budget based on projected turnover and use the takings to continue to run the club. Granted perhaps Dwane Sports are awaiting incoming funds, but if Blackbeard is right then the matter of when it'll be paid for will be settled based on projected football revenue, then the Al Qadis allegedly aren't spending any of their own money on this development. Nor does it seem have they on any of the other small developments at the ground. We were all aware that they want this club to be self sustaining but how the hell do they think we can self sustain before any of the infrastructure is in place to allow that to happen?! They must surely surely realise that external investment is a necessity when it comes to making stadium improvements, they can't rely on revenue generated by the team, otherwise there won't be sufficient funds reinvested into the playing side. I hope this is all bollocks to be honest as if it's true then it all seems quite clear that no major infrastructure that is desperately needed for the club to move forward (training ground and stadium) will happen on their watch.

Funded by the FL. Grants that we could also get but never apply for. They're not exactly huge either but even one new stand would make the Mem look so much better.

Miles Hire Cardiff (@mileshirecardif) Tweeted: We're now delivering across the South West of England! At 7:30am this morning, Guardian Property Services called requesting delivery of aluminium towers to Bristol Rovers FC and at 10:15am, we were off-loading to site! Contact Cardiff@mileshire.co.uk t.co/nAGFqcweHq Think this may be to do with the filming being done outside the stadium near the ticket office. not even sure its rovers related.

My issue is that whenever things like not paying get mentioned it is used to attack the owners, when it's not exactly an uncommon thing.
It's like real life where bills get prioritised
Again doesn't make it right

I agree with you that it's not uncommon, but I don't see how the personnel behind funding our club can have any excuse. For example many companies supplying a service, like yours in your original reply to gas365, are effectively forced into delaying payments to creditors because they often are paid late by companies above them. It's those companies at the top of the food chain that I have no respect for in regards bringing in contractors to perform a service when they have no intention of honouring the contract by paying them within the agreed terms. Unfortunately I see BRFC as being one of those, as we're not providing a service to another company whom we can invoice.

Think this may be to do with the filming being done outside the stadium near the ticket office. not even sure its rovers related. Is it to do with the Sunderland game being live on Sky? The company is a plant and tool hire company. Answer it is almost certainly an aluminium scaffold for what ever purpose. My guess its to build a gibbet to hang all the whinging "b**turds" on here complaining about a large screen monitor the Rovers have never had.

I would imagine at most clubs the thing would be ordered and installed without a fuss. Only at Rovers can it turn into a soap opera. Hopefully TG will pass a late fitness test on his ACL and it can be completed.

Unfortunately I see BRFC as being one of those, as we're not providing a service to another company whom we can invoice. With the industry I work in, the company I work for supplies a technical service and people think that because what is being provided is intangible therefore they can get away without paying it rather than off-setting and prioritising their billing (although I expect that factors in to a certain degree too). I very much doubt Rovers think they can get away without paying for stuff but I think you make a good point about why, due to the nature of the business, this seems to consistently come up as an issue for Rovers in the first place. Long term maybe word will get around and less contractors will be willing to touch Rovers with a bargepole? I recall a poster saying that some of the contractors that did the work on the refurbishments were supporters of the club so it would be a real shame if the club was taking advantage of supporter’s skills and not prioritising them in the billing process.

Businesses have overdrafts to manage cashflow - not sure why we haven't unless it's been spent elsewhere?

You're right, a TV doesn't mean anything and I personally don't care about the TV itself. For me it's more the fact that something seemingly so simple has still managed to turn into what appears to be little short of a clusterf**k. It doesn't bode well for what we REALLY need does it? For me that's the crux of the issue.

For me that's the crux of the issue. Oh yes Jomo, I understand the bigger picture and you’re absolutely right about the ability, or lack of it, to complete a seemingly simple project. I was trying to be relatively lighthearted about people getting knickers in a twist about a TV. The bigger stuff is far more important and as you say our inability to do simple stuff does not fill me with confidence that bigger stuff will be done. But perhaps next year we’ll be able to watch a big telly and have a moan at the same time, that will be an improvement! UTG!
