Nothing to do with not supporting the new manager. I'm just showing some loyalty and respect for a manager who achieved great things for us. Shame others are so dismissive and fickle. It is a bit odd that loads wanted DC to stay here for life, were outraged at the board for sacking him and now he is gone remember him as "Oh, you mean that guy who won 6 in 33?". Nowt so fickle as a football fan. Are you describing yourself ?

Maybe he's not bothered about a new stadium but I am. Appointing GC in my opinion was simply a cheap option and one this board were always going to do. Without new blood in the January window I think we will probably end up in the bottom 4. Yes we've had a couple of wins but after the new manager syndrome wears off I think we'll be back to square one. Hopefully i'm wrong but I don't think I am. How about being a bit more positive? Positive enough by going to Accrington tomorrow -- Are you ?

To be fair there are plenty of reasons why Baggins can't go to the game apart from him not be positive, it is an away game after all. Whilst most of us would love to go to every game, life gets in the way.

Thing I like most about that interview is his answer to the Checkatrade trophy question. That's he's not bothered who we play and the only team he would have picked would have been Sunderland. Because it's the only team he's lost to, but he didn't have long to prepare and would look to try and put that right.
He sounds like he likes a battle and a fight. Not sure how he will do long term, but I like what he has to say during interviews.

Darrell Clarke's issues with the training ground and stadium are not mine says new Bristol Rovers boss Graham Coughlan. This on FB just. Just someone quoting what GC said on Twenty man last night Staffs.

Coughlan not bothered about a new training ground or stadium and is seemingly happy enough the way things are. DC gave his blessing and put his name forward to the board Coughlan- "Mischief makers on the TV saying Rovers were going to interview other candidates (Ben Garner) and I don't know if that was to hurry me up or what or to push me, I don't know" (Contract signed shortly after) Brentford have the option to recall Bonham this month, But Coughlan hopes that won't be the case. Had a meeting today regarding transfers and discussed alternatives if he does go back. Hopefully i'm wrong but I don't think I am. agree with much of what you say, I do like the sound of the bloke, but his being happy with things like the ground, not too bothered about any signings!! A little worrying. The board probably couldn’t believe there luck.

What’s the bloke really going to say? He knows the situation with DC and what was surely a big factor in his losing his job, if not directly then certainly indirectly.
I suspect that he knows that he has a decent enough squad if he can get them firing and that he has a good shot at keeping us up. DC clearly made mistakes in his last few months but oddly, his recruitment, which has been used as a stick to beat him with, doesn’t appear to have been one of them. Upson, Jakubiak, Holmes-Dennis and Bonham could all play a big role in the months to come and given the relative strength of the base of our team (keeper, centre-backs, centre-midfield) we really ought to pull away from the drop zone.
DC will surely learn from his mistakes in his next appointment. In getting so close to the fans, he made the mistake of fighting what he saw as our battle with the board. Regardless of the half-truths, let-downs and downright lies he undoubtedly experienced, he shouldn’t have let it effect his ability to be professional in his interviews and it almost certainly affected his judgement. All that said, does it make me feel any worse about the bloke? No. Ultimately this season’s failure was a very human and gallant one and no right-minded fan should think any the worse of him for it. He has many fine characteristics and if he can just remain a tiny bit more detached in his next job, without losing his passion, then he’ll probably go on to great things again. Football is all about fine margins.

I not a great lover of the Board at this present time BUT if they appointed someone else and that manager started losing the first 3/4 games and we dropped back into the bottom two there would be uproar and fans would be saying why didn’t we stick with GC. yeah we all want a ground etc etc etc BUT the managers first and foremost job is results and hopefully attractive football. Hes now been appointed like it or not so let’s just get behind him and the players so we can get out of this mess and move up the table. UTG

I’m happy with his appointment, far better to have him, than anyone else that was on offer. Good luck to him UTG

How about being a bit more positive? Positive enough by going to Accrington tomorrow -- Are you ? No, won't be travelling tomorrow. What that's got to do with you coming across as not being that happy with GC's appointment is a bit odd.

Football is all about fine margins. Great post and sums up how I’ve felt about this season from day one. Yes it is a great post and I was going to say exactly the same from sunny Oz but Socrates beat me to it! From listening to him on 20man he is absolutely blinkered about staying up and ground, training ground and owners are just stuff that will get in the way of the football. Love DC and have total respect and thanks for his commitment and what he did but we need to concentrate on the playing side considering where we are and GC sounds as if he’s going to do that. Interesting what he said about the training ground compared to Sheffield Ws facilities. I also liked his bit about the four of them splitting up the training and what they did. It might have been exactly what has been happening but with CH and Lee M involved. I don’t know but the guy sounds to be very blinkered in a good way re football. Yes of course the owners will be pleased that they will not be criticised but so long as we win matches who cares this season. Long term is,of course, a different matter. UTG!
