Can't see Ipswich staying up, so whatever wages he is on now, surely they will decrease with relegation to L1? Oh yeah they are relegated.

Shows how well we did to get as much as £750,000 for Ellis, mind you it probably helped that Darrell's best mate was in charge of Ipswich at the time.

Ellis had one good season in league one and it wasn’t as if he was the leagues top scorer so that was a massive gamble by Ipswich and hurst in my opinion... So far it hasn’t really paid off( I know he’s had injuries etc) but I can’t see another championship team coming in for him so he’ll be back in league one and I’ll be surprised if he hits over 15 goals next season..

We sold him for 800k so I imagine he is on at least 15-25k a week probably much more, we will need to move 6 or 7 players out to afford his new salary. I would shocked if he is on anything near 25k. More like 10k. Snake doubled his money to be a bench warmer, Ellis was first choice under Hurst before the injury so £15k sounds right. To put into perspective what Championship players are paid. Torquay have got players under the Johnson's loan agreement on £1,000 a week.

Ellis sadly was alwaes one for th critics ta jump on. But in my opinion he was a fantastic player for us who got better an better, lets not look over that goal at Wembley when were right up against it and th way he cupped his ears to th fans showed he didn't forget th stick so many gave him, couple that with his dressing room presence and th way th other lads loved him he has been a big loss for us this season. It often seemed he had to do so much more than others to get some fans approval and th thing i admired most about him was he took it on th chin and gave his all. Still more to come from Ellis in his career i think and no doubt he once again will relish th chance to prove th doubters wrong.

It’s not a stretch at all to say he was good last season, in fact I think that’s an understatement. He was one of our best performers last year, worked his socks off every game and his goals and attacking play were finally starting to show for it. Don’t forget his contribution in the conference too, scored 15 vital goals for us, including the one at Wembley. If it wasn’t for him, we probably wouldn’t have gone up that season.

He had half a good season last year, the other not so much. Like with our current batch, strikers are judged on goals and they dried up for Ellis at the halfway mark. Haven't forgot what he done at Wembley but it's ridiculous that you can't judge or have an opinion on Ellis as a League One player without having his Wembley goal/non league season shoved back as a reply. We're not debating his ability in the conference. For what it's worth, I think Ellis was a loss and is better than what we have.

You can say the same for Taylor, without his goals we might not have made it to Wembley, for the league two promotion aswell.

His goals dried up after scoring his last one away at Plymouth on the 17th of March, he'd been quite prolific before then scoring 5 goals in 8 games. This is well over half the season, he ended up having 14 goals in 49 games in all competitions as well as putting in many MoM displays over the course of the campaign, for me he is a league one quality player, the championship may prove to be a bridge too far for him but he's definitely good enough to play in this league, no question.

Yep, might be controversial in saying this but I've take him back in a instant. Goals win games and bring about success and after losing him we've not had a lot of it. Doesn't mean I particularly like him very much though.
