Find this a weird one tbh. Did he play well in the match against their U21s? I don't think he's good enough for us let alone West Ham.
Just a thought...any chance this could be a bit of a muddle up with Lloyd Kelly of City?

I'm not surprised at all. If true, he'll go into their u23 team. He's 21 already though, so would be suprised if they would pay a 6 figure fee, when he only has 6 months left on his deal with us anyway. He wouldn't have even been in our team, if THD was fit sooner. DC would rather play player's out of position, than play him, earlier in the season. Isn't the rule under EPPP that any player under 24 can be poached by category 1 academies for nothing and then a fee settled by tribunal? I may be wrong and happy to be corrected.

Why would they pay a decent fee when he is out of contract in 6 months? Article says West Ham have opened talks and are readying a 6 figure bid£1,000.00 ?

I'm sorry, I know he's young, but I don't rate Kelly as a long term option in Our first term, let alone higher up.

Maybe this is why there were reports that Rovers were interested in the young left back Gibson from Newcastle who eventually signed for Stanley. We need to let players like Nichols and Smith go and keep our best youngsters or we will forever be strugglers.

The fact he is under 24 and plays regular means we will get a much better fee . Also how do we know he hasn't already turned down a fresh contract with us ( kept confidential ) ??. There are some 'test cases' enclosed but a bit dated now. I would argue age : regular : extended contract offered ( ?) a lot more money than we think. fullcontactlaw.co.uk/2016/11/compensation-players-24-mystery/

Bet the Express didn’t even know there are 2 Kelly’s playing in Bristol let alone 2 teams.

This article which I'd posted on another thread earlier would seem very specific to Michael Kelly with references to club, age, length of contract, league 1 etc. www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-west-ham-open-talks-to-sign-full-back/Make of it what you will.

Unlikely to have the two Kelly's mixed up.
The Ted Kelly has 3 years left on his contract and would cost several million.
The Gas Kelly has 6 months left on his contract and would cost peanuts.

Article says West Ham have opened talks and are readying a 6 figure bid If that is the case I'm sure he will be sold. Tbf if a team like West Ham or Crystal Palace came in for him with big money we can hardly get in his way. It would be a sensational move for someone who was playing amateur football a little over a year ago.

I think Kelly is a quality player he is only 21, most players peak in their late twenties so he has plenty of years ahead of him to improve, will probably land up plying his trade in the top or more likely second tier. We are good a loosing good young players we let Broom go in the summer have we bought in any one better on the wing the answer is no. Though Rodman has done well recently he is reaching the end of his career.

From the moment we saw Kelly, I saw potential and talent but I must admit something doesn’t sit right with me about this and I can’t put my finger on why.
