Sorry to see Tom go, but I have faith in Coggs and Hargreaves to call it right, 2 experienced football men who know their stuff.
It said on the radio That Coggs tried to persuade Tom to stay, but when you've got the bright lights and fleshpots of Swindon calling, what's a guy gonna do?
I wonder if they were worried that Tom is a bit injury-prone and decided to let that be Swindon's problem?
I suppose we'll never know.

Surprised he found his way round the magic roundabout, confuses the F##k out of me, but then again i'm only attention seeking if i get it wrong

You to make allowances for people Gassy and Okebourne what do they say.... the truth hurts That's ok fella, we're here for you. As they say admitting you have a problem is the first step. And some of us will remind you when the time comes.

Imagine if he was given a run of games and not dropped every time he played well

Imagine if he was given a run of games and not dropped every time he played well Do you think he is currently better than TL and TC? I appreciate that he showed promise and with a run of games would have improved significantly, but given the majority of the time since he signed we have been up against it in the lower reaches it is hard to let him learn on the job, the more experienced pairing is needed. I think he could go on to be a really good player, but we don't have the luxury to field him in our predicament. I trust that DC and GC both probably did rate him and recognise his potential, but ultimately was not ready to play now and the fact that he has dropped to L2 would suggest that other teams in L1 have a similar opinion or they would have snapped him up. I think our biggest mistake was not loaning him out earlier on in his contract top get him the experience so could then push for a regular place here.

We need another cb of his size tho, Lockyer Craig and Clarke are short and Partington is just a little weed. I hope his leaving means another cb is coming in Could have made a move for Cian Bolger who move moved to Lincoln a couple of days back....

I think Menayese is by far the better prospect for the future so not too disappointed. I do wish Tom well, he deserves his chance somewhere else.

Maybe we did, but arguably Lincoln are a more attractive option, at top of L2 (at least if not probably more likely to be in L1 as us next season) and on a real upward curve selling out home games regularly. The money they have made from cup runs in recent years has put them in a strong position to offer decent wages. Barring the Rovers connection from his loans there isn't much that would put us ahead of Lincoln in a players mind right now

Very sorry to see Tom go - a talented player, new to pro football, thought he was only going to develop more. The other thing I don't get is - Tony Craig is having a good season BUT how many more seasons at L1 has he got in him ??
Let's pray that this means funds for a striker !

Good luck to TB but he wasn't playing so I'm not arsed.
We got the very promising Kilgour and Rolling Mayonnaise to fill the role of 4th choice CB and Partington can play there.

There are loads I would target to bring in on loan if possible Sam Hughes (Leicester), Lloyd Jones (Luton), Cian Harries (Swansea), Marc Guehi (Chelsea), Zech Medley (Arsenal), Kyle Howkins (West Brom), Nathan Ferguson (West Brom), Ben Wilmot (Watford), Jonathan Dinzeyi (Tottenham), Timothy Eyoma [also plays RB] (Tottenham), Harry Souttar (Stoke), Robbie McKenzie (Hull), Anel Ahmedhodzic (N Forest), Kean Bryan (Sheff Utd), Morgan Feeney (Everton) amp.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/01/16/everton-coach-david-unsworth-raves-about-teenager-morgan-feeney/

I know a lot of people don’t like Lockyer and Craig but our defence is the best it has been for years. We have gone from many seasons being bottom six in terms of goals conceded to top six. Personally I would have liked to have seen Tom stay but I guess the management (old and current) prefered James Clarke as a third choice CB and Mayennase is younger with more potential and has been on the bench more recently so is still one for the future. Bonham saves us at least 2 goals a match which Smith/Slocombe would concede I sense he's papering over the weaknesses. Shock horror Topper as goalkeeper does what a goalkeeper is supposed to do.

Can't blame him for wanting a move.He has never ever had a run of games since he got here Aug 2017. He will go on to greater things. The undroppable Lockyer-Beckenbauer remains to "boss" (cough),the back three/four. He will never be Steve Elliott if he plays another thousand games. Flatters to deceive every time he plays.I bet he is well chuffed that Broadbent is going. Sad day for a great prospect. Good Luck Tom.

Just shows what state we’re in and we won’t get a better replacement. A promising league one player would rather leave because he couldn’t get in the first team because we have 2 players that can’t hardly win a header and are non league standard on the ball not league. He’s just the sought of player we should be lucky to have as to get as good as player as him we would have to pay decent money for After watching Broadbents debut at Charlton last season I thought he would go on to be a first choice regular and prove to be an excellent signing. Strong in the air, quite comfortable on the ball and could pass! The next game or two he is dropped for Lockyer and hardly featured at all since which was puzzling, allowing for a slight injury. He was not brought along professionally at all and one of Darrells most puzzling decisions.
