I understand that Mr Hamer has been demoted to a "Non executive Director" and now only responsible for board affairs and is also giving up his appartment in Bristol in March.
Not sure what real relevance this has but thought it was interesting news

Just handing over the reigns of the footballing side of things to Starnes I expect. As soon as MS was appointed it was clear that Hamer was going to relinquish some of his responsibilities to him at some point, I imagine Starnes will be involved with the football aspect and the day to day running of the club and Hamer will be responsible for the big decisions regarding the clubs future and report back to the AQ's. He helped with the takeover but I never got the sense he was in it for the long term.
He must be getting on a bit now, 68 this year according to his wikipedia page?

Non-executive basically means his is just an advisory role from now on. It should also mean that his salary is either far less than before or even that he won’t take a salary.
The power has shifted to Starnes, basically, as had been widely thought anyway.

Forgive my ignorance but I thought NEDs were not in charge of anything. They are essentially just experienced people in their field who attend Board meetings and offer little more than knowledge and experience. All the proper running of a company would be done by the CEO, Chair and Executive Directors.

Surely if he's non executive he won't be making any decisions?? Just speculating as I'm not ITK but I guess his role would entail exploring options, talking to the media, presenting the facts to those who can and having some influence in an advisory role. Obviously it'll be down to the owners to have the final say.

As far as I am concerned Starmes offers us nothing more than what Steve Hamer does. Just a money saving initiative from where I sit, we would be no worse off if we had not even employed our CEO.

Assuming this is true then why is SH staying on, if was in his position I'd tell the ALQ's to do one, as I can't see he needs the money at his age, unless he's had p1ss poor pension advice in the past. You fear the end of SH is the end of any prospective of us ever getting a new stadium in the short to medium term.

Goodbye Steve Hamer Though I never knew you at all You had th grace ta face up While th landin lights had failed They crawled out of the elevator An they whispered behind yer back They sent you on th staircase An they painted you on here as bad
An it seems ta me you lived your life Like a Hammer in th muck Never knowing who to cling to When evrything went titts up And I would have liked ta have known you But I was just a git Your candle burned out long before Your chance of achieving anything ever did
