He clearly wants 3/4 players out of the club, but he's been left a whole pile of players just not good enough for this league and unfortunately I can see only one outcome. Anyway realistically, IMO the four out the for me now, are Bennett, Nicholls, Lines & Smith. If Sercombe is on his way, as seems likely, so be it. Seasons end will be a different story Partington, Craig, Mensah, Leadbitter, O Clarke and Sinclair - frightening really but It'll need to be done. Unfortunately there are others which he will probably be unable to get shot of - in effect a complete rebuild. A clean slate in the summer could be a good thing, but my worry is the Al Qadis won't provide enough funds to bring in the required quality, whether we are in League Two or League One, especially with the budget cuts DC mentioned.

Talk of a complete rebuild in the summer but do people honestly believe Graham Coughlan is the right man for this? I’d rather have an experienced manager in who has seen it and done it before. TBH that may well happen if we go down

TBH that may well happen if we go down I'm sure the new owners will want their own man in charge for next season anyway.

Where is the club going? Little or no leadership in any of the clubs departments. The future isnt filling me with any hope and im sure lots of gasheads feel the same.

3 or 4 games out of 22 is acceptable is it? The mean average would be 10-12 games and even then you would want improvement. Read what I wrote properly. Cogs said he would pick players who deserved to have won that shirt. Upson was terrible last week and against Burton and to be honest, wasn’t all that great against Oxford and yet he’s kept in the middle. He’s was absolute dog 💩 today and rightly got subbed. Craig, we’ll pass back to your keeper after dithering on the ball when he has 2 strikers rushing in on him and then the overhead kick in our own third which led to an attack and a plethora of shots thereafter. Same old from him and yet keeps the shirt. Clarke. Where is the player from the start of last year. Sincs needs to go in the middle again just to put some fight and energy there. Rodman, well, I’ve seen 2 good things from him all season. Put Leads there, at least he might be able to run past someone and go forwards instead of backwards or sideways. His crossing today, when he got the odd one in was worse than Leads after an 80 yard dash. The most bizarre thing also about today was bringing on Matthews and then playing a left footer, who is so left footed he may as well cut off his right, played on the right hand side, which made it even easier for their full back to get the tackle in. GC has got some serious thinking to do and the board need to get some fighters in ASAP. Where's your post on the match thread before the game saying drop Upson, mines on there saying we lack creativity with him & OC in the team, as far as playing Sincs pretty sure he's still injured. Not sure you can blame Craig for out present problems as if Locks had marked the goal scorer we'd have most likely kept 4 consecutive clean sheets. Rodman had our only two decent attempts on goal today so not sure why he's being singled out. GC's hand were tied when it came to subs as Sercs was missing and it seems he's trying to force Bennett out. I didn’t post on the starting line up in the match day thread.... The one consistent thing we have seen about our form and lack of cohesion through the defence to midfield is since Tony Craig has come in. Ah, but we have kept 4 clean sheets in the last 4 games with him in the team you say...but if look at how he runs the game now he’s a yard off the pace meaning he sits a yard deeper, which pulls Lockyer further deeper, which means the gap to the midfield is massive, which means we have to play a deep lying midfielder in OC, which means you then have to work it out more, except we don’t have wingers capable of it or full backs and wingers quick enough to beat opposition wingers. So the option is to knock it long like yesterday, but we have a fat number 9 who refuses to jump or run and a bunch of short arses which opposition defenders tower over. Not only that, any attempt from Craig to pass it often lands to the opposition anyway. When you sit that deep too you invite extra pressure, put extra pressure on your CB partner and leave little margin for error. Locks was outfought for the goal I agree, but Jombati was MOM today, is a lot taller than Locks and is exactly the sort of CB we need in our side. Rodman did have 2 shots, but apart from that made no effort to do anything else, he was back to what he was doing at the start of the season. THD didn’t do a lot, but rarely a ball made it out of defence down the left far enough to his feet. Trying to force Bennett out is just stupid when we are crying out for some pace, a different dimension and when a player in Matthews who has also been utter rubbish all year, keeps his place on the subs bench.

I'm a bit in two minds over these comments. On the one hand I'm glad he's telling it straight and that's what we fans appreciate, call a spade a spade, if it's sh** then it is indeed sh**. However he talks of needing to manage the players carefully, and yet any player with half a brain can see that it's empty words and he's contradicting himself. I'm not sure this is even a bad thing to be honest as players ought to be man enough to face up to when they've let themselves, the club and the fans down. If they're not strong enough though, the sort of "they were sh** and it was their fault, but I'll take the blame" and "they were sh** but they're too weak to take criticism so I'll tell them it was my fault"? Surely those are totally contradictory statements that do indeed call out the players, which it seems he doesn't want to do? I really hope he can turn this around, and perhaps today may end up being a blessing in disguise, as it shows we definitely need new faces, when previously GC and CH seemed to be fairly easy going about either way. Take your point completely, but I have always believed the wrong time to interview a manager or player is after a game ,win or lose the emotions are always running high. I reckon if they were interviewed a couple of days after their response would probably be more considered, but I guess thats modern day media and what we want

Indeed. Almost sounds like a Darrell Clarke interview. He frequently contradicted himself. "I'm not making excuses, but..." Contrary to what he said in the interview, the dressing room is already getting to him, and the players now know, after only a few games, exactly how easy it would be to drive him bonkers. A number of players are OOC at the seasons end, and if they fancy a move, or intend to finish playing, they aren't particularly going to o give a flying. GC needs to be careful here, because if he publicly trashes his players, no matter if we all agree they need to be trashed, there are probably some who will get considerable pleasure in f ucking him over. Remember they're not fans, they don't really care about BRFC, and once they pocket their end of contract settlement, they'll walk away without a backward glance. I feel sorry for Coggs.

THD is not a winger, he is a left back. So that automatically makes us more defensive as well. We need a natural left winger, with a bit of pace. Then THD and Kelly can compete for the left back position. Looks like Nichols days are finally numbered, but will anyone take him off us?? Problem is getting player's of the wage budget. Doubt many clubs who would take a risk on player's like Nichols, can afford thier wages. Hard to judge GC until he gets some of his player's through the door. You can see how he wants to play, but we don't have the player's to play that way. So we are likely to see boring low scoring games, for the rest of the season.

I am sure if anything the dressing room would be split rather than lost. I dont see Locks, Ollie, Sinclair, James Clarke etc turning against DC

I have serious reservations abourt GC. It seems to me he's just doing everything opposite to DC, probably because he thinks that is what the fans want. I think he's influenced by opinion and not strong enough to make his own decisions.
Fans said drop Nichols. So our most creative player this season with the most assists has barely featured since GC took over.
Fans said play left footers on the left and right footers on the right. So we have a left back playing on the wing.
Fans said don't keep changing the team. So we've kept pretty much the same team despite 3 very poor performances.
Fans said don't change formation. So we stick with 4-4-2 even when it is clearly not working.
Add to this his seeming refusal to play Bennett who is the one player we have who might have made a difference yesterday and I have to say I'm beginning to think the board made a massive mistake giving him the job; especially a 2.5 year contract.
I hope he proves me wrong but considering the opposition I thought yesterdays performance was the worst of the season. It's difficult to se how we're going to score another goal let alone win another game.

The idea that fans opinion influences a manager is ludicrous

Dust settled, and we are still ****ing awful; it is quite clear listening to GC, players like to be told and think they are very good, when in reality they are just not good enough, apart from Sercombe, the rest are average at best, and some just not good enough, when Payne turned on our box to take the ball away up field and a opposition defender turned several yards behind Payne and them easily cantered past him and took the ball off his foot, well ffs that was a seminal moment, Payne is officially in my mind the worst forward, probably player, to ever pull on the quarters regularly for the first team and must go ASAP.

Actually, for 5 minutes after he had brought Lines on I thought we were getting somewhere, when Rodman had that header cleared off the line I thought we would go on and score. As for Wycombe the cheating was unbelievable they were dropping like flies in a bag

As for Wycombe the cheating was unbelievable they were dropping like flies in a bag Admittedly they were going down like flies, but they were the better side and fully deserved the 3 points. GC said in his pre-match interview that he was playing two up front to attack them and he wanted to play higher up the pitch. That bever happened. I can’t think of many occasions where we strung more than 3 passes together. All that seemed to happen was Craig was left with the ball at the back with no options going forward and his passing went astray. The problem GC has now is who does he drop? It’s okay saying keep the same 11 when your winning, but you are stuffed when it starts going wrong.
