Starting to think it's beyond us again, we need to keep Bonham, probably sign 1 or 2 wingers, an attacking CM and a striker or two who can score to have any chance of staying up, but will the ALQ's back GC? Not sure Locks & Craig are good enough partnership either.

No , even if we do get any players in ( which I doubt ) they will be the scraps that no one else wanted, relegation beckons I’m afraid.

I reckon it’s 50/50 which is better than I thought in DCs last weeks where it was more like 30/70. Obviously the transfer window will be important, broadbents left so we’ll surely bring one in at least. Problem is as DC said before, we’ve reached our budget limit so it’s not about whether Wael wants to spend it , he already has and as we know the squad is unbalanced and we don’t have many goals or much creativity in us. DC brought too many in and the squad is too full of too many poor players. If he’d signed 3 or 4 less players the budget would allow to do some business this window or he could have attracted better players in the summer. We’ve got first team players who are probably on at least a couple of grand a week not even on the bench . Major f**k up in the summer and we’re paying the price. Going back to the original question don’t see how anyone could answer yes or no, lots of football to be played yet and none of us have got a crystal ball.

Touch and go if we stay up, I would suggest for the rest of the season that THD is moved to full back (his natural position) KB is played on the left wing. He is quick, can run with the ball and is very creative.. I assume Secs is going so CL should always play, again he is very creative.

We won’t sign anyone meaningful. We’ll loan a young striker if we’re lucky.
We’re gone.

There seems to be no evidence of any recognition of, or desire to, address our clear areas of weakness. Therefore we are down I am sad to say.

Sign a goal scorer - stay up. Don't sign one - relegation.

I like to refrain from participating in polls like this. They're usually very reactionary, we win one people think we stay up, we lose one people think we are going down. The results would of been different two weeks ago and could be different in two weeks. Let's try and find us some decent players to bolster us in the latter part of the window and see where we finish in may. UTG

I voted that we won't be a L1 team next season but to be honest I think we may need go up by the playoffs now as our chance of one of the automatic places may have gone.

After witnessing the dire display on Saturday, I think we're probably going to be relegated.

I believe relegation is possible for any team from Fleetwood down and if the rot sets in for any of the teams in there position they could well find themselves in the bottom 4 come May.At the moment relegation is probable for Bradford and the Wombles and 60/40 for the likes of us and teams around us.The last couple of months all the teams around us have had a good spell of 4/5 games before reverting to type including us, so we have a yo/yo affect in and out of bottom 4 and somehow we have to out of that group come May!Do i think the present squad are good enough to achieve that? No, we have to change things. We have had the same trouble all season,no creativity and no fire power. Defensively we are OK and for once our goal difference is healthier than a lot of others and could yet be our savior. If we can't or wont purchase the quality we need where it is needed then it is time for under 23s like Baghdadi,Moore. Russe to step up to the plate, i am confident they will show more fight , endeavor, and skill than the present midfield and for want of a better word'strike force'.Surely if Swindle and even Liverpool can play 16 year olds ,we can play 20 plus lads, whats the point of having them if they aint to be given the chance!Top these up with the likes of the Chippenham lad and the trialist from last week, who would be cheap and hungry and desperate to prove themselves and earn a contract. Some one will correct me i'm sure but can you remember one decent home game this season , bar Pompey perhaps, where the team showed any fight or the creativity to beat some very beatable teams, we only needed one goal to have earned many more points but it has not happened and will not if we keep players combinations of the same players, something has to change and i am confident GC will take the action required, this squad and there attitude cost DC HIS JOB and i can't see GC suffering the same fate.I dont hold with the notion'you can't throw kids into a relegation battle ' 1(the players mentioned are not kids 2) what's there to lose! finally as supporters its up to us to really stick together and do every thing possible to encourage whoever pulls on the quarters to fight and get the points on the board, Port Vale gives GC the chance to try two or 3 of said players before Posh who incidentally i believe we will beat and start us on another 5/6 game points gathering run, for a bit of inspiration you could do worse than go to Kipling's IF 'if you can keep your head when all about you are losing theres' etc ,if board , manager, team, and most of all supporters do this we will survive! come on Rovers!!!!!!
