If G.C wanted to kill the moral of the team/club/ supporters then he did it with the post match interview. Think about it from the point of view of the players "ship 3 or 4 out" he said, players not keeping the shirt etc etc so, now not knowing who he is talking about, the supporters dont know, it's just that it has unsettled everyone. Players lose confidence, supporters get pi55ed off.
What G.C didnt say was that he cocked up, he didnt stay with the settled side and tactics that had done so well so far. Playing Payne as a target man doesn't work because he is not a target man, he isn't tall enough, cant jump and not very good at holding the ball up. That is not the worst effect play hoof ball had. Wth Lockyer believing he can make Holywood passes, which he can't, his launches aerial passes towards Payne who gets nowhere near them. Thats not the worst effect of that play causes, the worst effect is that now Jacko doesn't get the type of pass he feeds on, the type of pass that lets him run onto or dribble past defenders, the type of pass that he thrives on.
G.C got it wrong but whats more worrying is that G.C either didn't realise why things weren't working or if he did, he didn't know how to change it, the changes he did make were to late and ineffective.
One last rant. If Sercome was unfit why didn't he play Lines from the off.
Rant over, yes I know I am guilty of 20 .20 hindsite.

That team is the same as that has played most games under him, only difference being Payne instead of Reilly.

How tall do you have to be to be a target man? Payne is 6ft 2in. That said, he isn't a target man. I'm not sure what he is other than unfit and not very good. In general I agree with your point about the interview and it probably wasn't the best for morale.

Do you want him to come out and say they played well??? Don't know what he was supposed to say really lol. Unlike is, they won't only hear that interview, he will talk to them 1 on 1. Might give them the gentle kick up the backside they need. If they like it here, they won't want to be one of the player's that are moved on.

I think GC was trying to highlight the snowflake attitude of modern players which lead to his frustration. I suppose he hoped the players would be motivating each other but maybe we don't have that attitude in the changing right now.
This current lot do look to me the wettest bunch Ive seen for some time.

With Payne in the team, It was more the tactics he played, switching from playing the ball on the ground for the very quick Reilly and the very skillful and powerful Jacko to run onto to instead we hoofball. Hoofball hasn't worked very well for the gas since Devon White played

Gas_Quarters will tell you that. He wasn't at the game but can tell you all about how we are exaggerating how poor the performance was.

Thought GC was spot all the players played ****ing awful, back to their bad old ways, they all tend to think they are special (which they definitely are not), his job is on the line, needs to bring in a number of players asap, Sercombe will start if fit on Tuesday, rest could not complain if any one of them were dropped. If anybody thinks that performance was ok then they are only kidding themselves, and if that level of performance continues then BRFC will be relegated at the end of the season.

If that level of performance continues we will be relegated by Easter! That was a must win game yesterday with the tough run of fixtures coming up, although you wouldn’t believe it with that shambles of a performance. We are desperate for at least a couple of signings this week, or take the brace position and kiss our asses goodbye!

I think that interview was as bad or "badder" then DC's last interview before it got him the sack.... He didn't blame the board, training ground, pitch, ground. pasties or anything else. We have a team of misfits, cobbled together by Clarke. Whatever league we are in next year we need a big clear out, starting with Nichols who still has over 2 years to go

They are both useless but Payne has a better goal scoring ratio. Nicholls 1 goal in 18 months . Payne 1 goal in 6 months year

Well, yes. Having listened to that interview it is impossible not to be very worried. Clearly big problems behind the scenes. Horrible echoes of 2011.

Considering it was his first lost - he lost the plot with that interview and took us straight back to where we were before dc got sacked! Bad management I’m sorry to say! Too passionate and no thought!
