The club have to mark referees on their performances. If they consider him to be that bad they will say so

f**k me that’s embarrassing He may have been a poor ref but they all have to start gaining experience somewhere and the 3rd tier is a pretty good place Of course its embarrassing, that's why he wrote it up. Guess what was all over otib after he posted it...... Yep... Coincidence..? Apologies if I have misread your post but are you saying the OP with 564 posts is a City fan on the watertake ?

I find the necessity to go on city’s forum, far more sad than the letter.

Just for the record, Peter Wright has refereed at Shrewsbury twice already this season and they won both times - first time (and hopefully the last time) we will ever see him at the Mem.

So you think Wright's refereeing was behind Shrewsbury beating Tranmere 6-0 in an EFL game, that's as laughable as your "good news in the new year" posts! On a positive note Wright sent off Tomlin in his previous match before Saturday.

Peter Wright is 4th official tonight at Sunderland, and due to be referee on Saturday at Carlisle v MK Dons.

Positive? It surely helped their opponents (and our relegation rivals) get 3 points?!

Dear Matt, Thank you for your e-mail. While we are not always able to comment on specific individual decisions/incidents, in a general sense, the EFL receives numerous queries and complaints regarding individual referees/match officials’ decisions and their overall performance. We can advise that the performances of all officials are constantly monitored by way of club and match observer, match videos or DVD and footage received by the referee coaches. Matches are also analysed by the Referees' Manager, a referees’ coach and the referee and, despite the perception of some, match officials are most accountable for their performances and these can impact on future appointments. We also appreciate how it can be frustrating as a supporter however it is important to note that it is very challenging for officials to spot every single incident that occurs on the field of play, whether this be due to the proximity of the ball to players, the position of the referee, or other players obscuring views of the officials. The human element of the sport means referees do also make mistakes during games, just like players (missing penalties, committing fouls, errors of judgement etc) and managers do on a weekly basis. With only one chance to view every incident, and no benefit of replays, the modern referee has a sometimes difficult task. In all situations the decision of the referee is final although, post-match Clubs do have the opportunity to raise any issues with the Referees’ Manager. As mentioned every match is recorded and assessed, with referees under closer scrutiny than ever before. Specifically, the emphasis is on development of referees and refereeing standards and the match assessor is asked to appraise the referee’s performance against the following competencies; • Application of the Laws of the Game and disciplinary control • Management of the games and players • Personality • Teamwork • Fitness, positioning and movements. We trust that this at least highlights to you the procedures in place designed to improve performances and thank you for contacting the EFL with your comments, which have been noted and passed on to the referees’ department for their information. Thank you for contacting the EFL. Kind Regards Danny Tebbutt Supporter Services Department EFL

I feel the real villain on Saturday was not the referee, but the manager who picked a bunch of thugs to play against us - some of those gentlemen were more suited to Tag Team Wrestling. That was a difficult game for any referee.

Our relegation rivals, I assume you haven't looked at either the league or form tables lately?

That was a difficult game for any referee. True to a point, be he also had more than one opportunity to stamp his control and authority on the game, and failed. Norburn and Ogogo both should have been sent off. He should have booked their goalie for time wasting and called the captains in from both teams and exerted his authority to both of them that he wouldnt have any nonsense. By the end it was an absolute cluster that the subs were all over the place, the man he sent off didn't leave the field straight away and then he had to deal with an incensed bench from both teams. He created his own problems.

They are only 4 points ahead of us Topper.
Could have been 3 or 1 point ahead without this sending off, but Tomlin is no stranger to a red so daresay he deserved it.

Of course, but the main problem wasn’t him missing decisions, it was about the abuse of his authority, mainly caused, by him not showing any. The tail doesn’t wag the dog in my business, I have bad days, as do my staff, but they know who the boss is and sometimes you have to exert your control. He didn’t.

Hello mother, hello father, Here I am at Camp Grenada. Camp is very entertaining, And they say we'll have some fun if it stops raining!
I went hiking with Joyce Fivey, He developed poison ivy. You remember Lennard Skynard, He got tomain poisoning last night after dinner!
All the counselors hate the waiters, And the lake has alligators! And the head coach wants no sissies, So he reads to us from something called 'Ulysses'.
No, I don't want (this should scare ya), But my bunkmate has malaria! You remember Geoffrey Hardy, They're about to organize a searching party!
Take me home, oh mother, father. Take me home, I hate Grenada. Don't leave me out in the forest, Where I might get eaten by a bear!
Take me home, I promise that I will not make noise, Or mess the house with other boys. Oh please don't make me stay; I've been here one whole day!
Dearest father, darling mother, How's my precious little brother? Let me come home if you miss me; I would even let Aunt Bertha hug and kiss me!
Wait a minute; it stopped hailing. Guys are swimming, guys are sailing. Playing baseball; gee that's better. Mother, father, kindly disregard this letter!
