Shrewsbury targeted Gogo yesterday and there game plan worked, he got riled and his game suffered, but he will come good and be a big player in our successful survival battle!

I must have seen a different game yesterday. I saw lines wanting the ball, something which Upson doesn’t look for. I also saw lines knock some great balls around yesterday.
Ogogo was a bit headless chicken at times, chasing the ball rather than the player, getting nibbled by the opposition to the point he lost it, passing was always sideways and when it went forward it was miles from our strikers.
He was losing his head yesterday.
We still play too deep a back line. We need to because Craig doesn’t have the legs anymore but our midfield line becomes too isolated and has to drop short to pick up possession (what Lines was doing yesterday) or because the gap is then too big to our forwards and we have no natural left winger we either have to go backwards to keep ball or knock it long in hope.
It’s absolutely basic when you lhink about it.

It’s absolutely basic when you lhink about it. We haven't had a natural left winger since Monty departed, I can see that's the reason we're so poor at home. Although why we still don't have one in the squad is a bit of a mystery. I can't understand why Lines, our attacking CM, sits so deep, if it's to protect Craig why wasn't OC doing that last week. Lines is really just go though the motions, unfortunately for us Upson's even worse.

I think Ogogo is a good player, he was crashed tackled several times early on by the Shrewsbury player who obviously had it in for their old team mate. Also there were verbals from them directed at him. I think Ogogo is a hard guy who can play and is an asset to the side. I thought the Shrewsbury managers comments after the game were ridiculous his team were the dirtiest team to visit the Mem this season.

They were but I’d like to see us become a bit nastier to be honest. Being a team of short and lightly built players worries me in a league 1 relegation scrap.

Lines is really just go though the motions, unfortunately for us Upson's even worse. Because we play a flat midfield, not a diamond. So he has to play alongside whoever is next to him. Not only that he’s the only one who can seem to pass a regular ball to feet going forward when there is the option to do so. I don’t understand why Lines gets knocked so much. He’s a very capable midfielder at this level. The only better midfielder I have seen this year is Luke Thomas for Coventry and he is in on loan from Derby. Let’s be honest, our midfield in terms of player availability is a shambles. We needed 2 wingers and sent the only other natural wide player out on loan and got a CM in his place.

Not quite sure Ogogo was as bad as people are making out.
Few points on that though:
Last week he was the best player on the pitch (with TN)
This week not as good, but he still gave 100%, that's all I ever ask for is 100% from our players.

Think he was so pumped up for it that it affected his performance, got caught early in possession of the ball, but agreed gave 100 % and all players have bad games.

He didn't have a good game on Saturday but anyone who has a ruck with John Joe-O'Toole is worth sticking with imo...
OToole and Ogogo Fight

A fight with OToole, retaliation against Norburn. The rest of our relegation squad had better watch out.

He is an aging centre midfielder, who occasionally drives forward with the ball, otherwise his game is to sit deep/stay in the centre circle and move the ball around

Do his left leg. His right one is a Gas legend.

Streets ahead of Lines yesterday. Lines was terrible. what annoys me are the little "dinks" he does. why cant he pass on the ground, and his corners, don't get me started

Fair point but we’d end up with a very large squad!

Was at Southend and thought Ogogo looked fired up and fit.I guess it is too early to judge. The team is looking for balance yes,but we bossed Southend so that has to be a starting point. I am a Chris Lines fan,and this fella is different class. He has become a bit isolated in the current squad because of this...that's my 10 pence. UTG.
