It would be really interesting to know how far Gasheads travel for home matches we all know the loyalty shown this year has been incredible with massive away support but how far do you travel on match days

I get to most matches, with a group of us travelling from Street in Somerset, about 1 hour each way depending on traffic, of course not as far as some travel. I would imagine judging from the gasheads in cars driving down the M5 after a match there are quite a few coming in from far and in particular somerset on a regular basis.
I would hope that the club has very detailed records of this kind of information - and also uses this to its advantage. In terms of marketing the club did recently promote the family ticket offer in the Somerset gazette newspaper, which suprised me but also shows that they may now realise they have to cast the net wider, promote to a much wider audience, and look after those that make the extra effort in terms of travel.
I guess a poll on here might give you a better idea, however I would like to think that the club has accurate data, is analysing it and using it to its advantage. Not knocking the club at all - just suggesting the fact that due to mobility of the labour force and people moving many times in their lives, the days of most footie fans walking to a match from their house 5 minutes away are fading, and I hope the club is recognising this (obviously the UWE plans did take this into account and would have made access to the match a quicker experience for people in the region rather than just Bristol).....

Creeping out from the morning mists of the wild Levels beyond distant Taunton... I shall be pottering up the M5, fifty-something miles each way. It's match day again! Can't wait.

I do the 90 mile Yeovil round trip.
I'm bringing an American Denver Broncos fan to today's game to see a real game of football. I don't think we will equal their average 76,000 crowd today but we may get 7,600. They might have decent hotdogs but we've got Cider!

I predict that we'll be in the play-off final come May, Empirebaypete will feel compelled to attend, and, unless an alien gashead turns up from a distant galaxy, that will set the record.

Not as far as Empirebaypete, but me and the Lukers (sorry, the Lukers and I) did the 9,000 miles round trip to Wembley a few years back. Not been home for a while but it's about time and I feel one coming on, and I'll buy thees al' a pint

Not too bad for me, just up the M5 from Highbridge. Much easier when I lived in Fishponds, a leisurely stroll through Eastville Park at 2-30 did the business....

I predict that we'll be in the play-off final come May, Empirebaypete will feel compelled to attend, and, unless an alien gashead turns up from a distant galaxy, that will set the record. Flew home for the Huddersfield game mate. Was talking to a Gashead mate earlier today about it. He was at Crewe. I was at home in Australia. Phoned my sister, and got the bad news. Didn't look like we were going to Wembley. Had to drive to work then. Got to work and the phone went. My missus just said "Better book your plane this afternoon". Queue me running around work screaming......... I remember later that day booking the holiday in work. Boss said there were too many people off (there was only one other, he was being a dick). He looked at me and said "you're going anyway aren't you". Now got kids and unfortunately lost my job earlier this year. So this time I won't be coming home. My mate and I have to put up with watching the Mariners these days. Dam useless tonight. Lost 2-1 at home. At one point I did shout "come on Rove...., oh Mariners". Played in Pink, for Womens Cancer Awareness.

Last season my company sent me to Oakland, California to carry out some work. Unfortunately it was at the time of the re-arranged Cheltenham fixture, postponed from New Years Day and which I still had tickets for. Fair play, they flew me back for the game and I returned to California 36hrs later to carry on. Glad we won!
