Thanks for correcting me. Agree Martin had a poor game, not just his tackling but his all round play too. In fact he has had very few decent games for us. Hopefuly, we can replace him with someone more consistent.
We need to replace Martin twice because he is our only winger .
The way I've always seen it is you need 3 wingers in the squad if your going to play 4-4-2.
2 on the pitch and one on the bench.
We have one not very good winger and one that hasn't played a single minute for us.
Cunnington would score 20 goals a season for us if we had decent players out wide.
I'm sure of it.
Cunnington is being flogged to death in the same way Harrold was last season.
Play some decent crosses in from the byline and AC would be prolific for us.
Hoof it down the middle with his back to goal and don't support him and well..... That's basically what we've seen the last few years and it's why we are where we are.
The right side, again like last season, is the big problem. Until we sign, I would be tempted to put Taylor there - his first touch is good, he passes ok and he has a little pace.
Of course we need to bring somebody in who normally plays there. But I think these two changes would give us more balance and a chance to get round the side of teams and put some more dangerous crosses in.
As for the front two ( I would like to see TWO new players ideally) but why not try White (hardly ever started a game) and Harrison. Cunny playing means the long high is used to death - and we usually get no-where.
I know this means quite a few changes but we desperately need to ignite our attacking play. Hopefully Sinclair can come back in to support Mansell.
