With respect to just preserve our Div1 status is not good enough long term for a club with our potential regardless of who are owners are. From where are today in the league today given our current season yes, but long term its not. See the Mem - the old wreck that she... is still good enough for League one both in terms of capacity and its corporate boxes etc and our crowds are very strong given our bad facilitys so just staying up in L1 is not seen as a success given our historic level. When was the last time we were higher than Lg1? 92/93, not exactly pre-history but even if you say the game/business has changed beyond recognition since then we should still be striving to get back to that level or what's the point? The AQs say they want stability but there's no stability as a L1/2 yo-yo entity in a decrepit old rugby ground with no income streams.

Slap your son and ditch your friend. Can't slap kids over here, and I can't ditch my friend as he sorts out my Tax stuff for free ! Ditch your kid and slap your friend then. f**ks Sake. Must we do all the thinking for you.

That mentality is the problem...why don't we aim to be higher than league 1? You saying my mentality is holding us back? We always aim to be higher but unless you've got a spare billion or two just hanging around what else do you expect? I am not the owner of the club, nor is any other fan...pointless asking me if I have any money. Well does Wael?,if he doesn't have the money to take us forward then he is on the Radio just admit it, don't tell me someone is working hard behind the scenes only to announce that it is back to the drawing board a few months later.

I have two examples that stand out for me. First, I took my seven year old Son to the Mem last season for the first time. When we got there, he said, "I thought we were coming to a proper football ground". Second, while I was watching Rovers on iFollow, a German friend of mine called in. After watching the game for a few minutes, he enquired if I were really watching Rovers, because he thought they "were a professional team that played in a proper ground" and not what he saw on the screen ! Slap your son and ditch your friend. Slap the board(s).

It's quite funny how some people use the failings of previous boards as a way of putting value on the current incumbents. Oh this diarrhoea isn't as bad E. coli I had last year. Fact is we've still got an arsehole like a Japanese flag and there's sh** all over the bathroom.
Sounds like a fun night

When was the last time we were higher than Lg1? 92/93? I think, but Whats that got to do with anything? Our historical place is being a top half/mid table L1 club.Regardless of the lack of a new stadium...as I stated the Mem and our crowds are good enough to always have us as a L1 club. Its only bad management/players that will be a danger to that. When wael took over we were 75% towards our promotion from L2 and that was down to DC rather than anything Wael did.Him getting carried down Glos Rd as a hero does not paper over this. Since that day him and our board have done nothing significant for us.Im not saying they have not improved areas off the pitch, but there legacy will be only classed as a success if we get the stadium. And us just being able to be a L1 club is not a huge victory or nor a success.Im not a wael hater, just pointing out facts. It was just a question. Christ, this forum, you mention one thing and you're shouted down.

So why not be happy we could stay in Lg1? I give up. Not sure if you are being on wind up now. League 1 is great right now, scrapping to stay in league 1 each season wouldn't be great. BUT why can't the club pull their finger out, sort the facilities, training and stadium, and enable to do more. That's what we all want answering. Baggins you might be happy sitting in the mem, but I want to live in a parallel universe where Rovers have a stadium they can be proud of and are competitive.

I won’t be listening to it as I cannot recall the last thing he said of true meaning! Politician answers and open ended optimism is all good and wellbut meaningless to me. I’ll check back here to see if anything of interest was actually said! I bet not!

Money we don't have. That's very true. And there's lots of people in this country/world with lots of money who have been investing their money in much smaller clubs than Rovers and bringing them fully into the 21st Century - Fleetwood, Rotherham, Doncaster, FGR, Salford, etc etc. ...........but not BRFC.

Oh well, thankfully the family own a bank are not car salesman with a fleet of cars on a forecourt. Achieving f**k all you say, we will stay up and retain our Div1 status, name another board bar Dennis Dunford’s that did this? I see Wolves lost £1 million a week to make the promised land, we could try and be break even like Yeovil? Would Martyn Starnes leave a well paid job to join administration? Give them the benefit of the doubt and PM Wael for another selfie, you used to love those. This is genuinely not personal but indulge me in a little history. I think I'm right that you used to be 'roadman' (or was it roadman's son... ) and used to have quite strident views and expressed them so. You then left the forum one day. Dare I suggest history may be repeating itself? Look, you have a view, and others have a view, but no need to suggest that your view is the right one, and that what you have written is all fact. No need for sly comments that so and so poster used to love selfies with wael, with the logical conclusion that he must therefore be a hypocrite / sycophant. THIS is why some people think this forum is a joke. This forum has lots of intelligent posts (including parts of yours) and interesting analysis and views, but for god's sake, there are a myriad of genuinely fair and differing opinions out there. Not leaving the forum brother, actually quite enjoy it. Dave is the banter king, I was just having some with him and yes he did have selfies with Wael, it was all over his twitter handle. I think said on my last post on here I’ve enjoyed the debate and mine is just an opinion. For the record when I buy a house I do due diligence and did the board do this properly on the UWE? I see both sides of the argument and having met Wael several times it doesn’t mean I am in his pocket. I think unity is better right now, that’s us staying up and me giving Wael the benefit of the doubt. Tonight’s interview was set up 4 weeks ago and like you I hope to find out more tonight. I judge a person on meeting them and their actions. Wael Al Qadi is a diehard Gashead, he really is and he wants the best for our club and is trying to put things right. I look at Alan Sugar, Tony Fernandes, Venkiys, Tiger at Oxford now, football is another level of business. Do we add Wael to the list, probably yes right now with the UWE and training ground collapse but having met the guy, listened to him and seen his passion, I truly believe he’s trying to put it right, hence benefit of the doubt and tonight.
