Already posted on the Matchday thread. It's a disgrace imo - if he isn't going to be used at the weekend, then he/we should request he be released to play for us due to our critical shortage of fit defenders.

A niggle apparently.

If he has picked up a niggle through the Welsh training regime, then even more reason to request his return for our medical team to assess it. We dare not have him injured through this niggle/knock being worsened.

Barnsley have two players involved tonight, their keeper is on the bench and Hedges has started. They are still playing on Saturday with a midday kickoff against Walsall. Interesting to see if those two players stay with the Wales squad, especially the keeper who is Wales third choice. Fully expect Tom to be on the Wales bench at the weekend, must have picked up a bug from the quality food at Carrington, the Man utd training base where Wales have been training.

It’s probably something to do with the 10 pints of allbright he had last night? You no what these welsh boys are like! A good fry up inside of him tomorrow and he’ll be fine for Saturday.

I reckon Tom must love every minute of being in the squad, even if he's not in the starting lineup or even on the bench.
It's only the Welsh squad, and therefore it doesn't prove a thing, according to some knowledgeable posters on here, and they are so short of talent that a one legged donkey could get picked.
That semi final place in the 2016 European Championship was clearly lucky.
If we had been able to keep him for the Plymouth game by preventing his selection, we may have gained a short term bonus, but I think to TL it would have seemed a terrible decision.
You just can't try to limit an international player's career if you want to keep them. If TL thought his international profile and future career was going to be limited by our club, he'd be off like a shot given the chance.

He's going up about the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in training as opposed to, bless their souls, Reilly and Nichols. What an incredible learning tool which we are undoubtedly reaping the benefits of this season with a much-improved defensive record. Imagine how much better he'd be if Hal Robson-Kanu didn't retire from the Welsh team!

Our defence was average, at best, under DC, brilliant under GC, not sure Locks training/occasionally playing for Wales as a great deal to do with our improvement.

Works both ways; how would playing in L2 affect his International career?

Our being relegated would probably enhance his international career as he'll no doubt be playing for someone in the championship the following season. If that is the case we should not try to hold him back - he's been a great servant and as long as we got a decent fee who could begrudge him?
