Well he has got on the bench, but I fear he is not physically very strong, and so will not get to play much.

Think his time will come. Toughening him up in the rigours of chasing a play off position in the National League seems good sense to me

I think Wycombe away showed what he could potentially end up being at this level when he absolutely ran his side of the midfield and gave their defenders fits. The issue is that other than that one game, I'm not sure I've seen him have another top performance yet in a Rovers shirt and so it makes sense for him to get game time especially in an Eastleigh team that are currently in the last play-off place.

I think he was unfortunate not to get more game time. Think he has great potential, not sure if he is a GC player if I am honest but makes sense to loan him out for the rest of the season.

Started off well then dropped off a bit. Not really had a chance lately. I would have liked to have seen him at the front of the diamond at some stage. Hope he does well and there is a recall clause, if we get a few injuries.

I really like the look of Matthews.
Hopefully he can get some game time and break in the team next season

The reason he has gone on loan is he offers us no width at all. Width is going wide, Sam has a yard is pace and is nimble to fit into pockets but he has no pace at all to go down the outside and get away from his marker. Do you ever see Messi go down the outside?
Sam prefers to cut in side and run at defence from in side or ran at them with pace going into the box with them scared to compete just like Messi.
Width is Rodman, Haldane or Leads, they go down the outside and to the byline. Bodin could go inside or outside and that’s why he’s in the Championship.
Someone like Matthews has to have a team built around him or play in a midfield 5 in my opinion where he has a floating role. I rate him highly, DC just signed the wrong player for his tactics and now we are in a battle where Cogs sets us up to press and defend the defence, he can’t fit into these tactics.
He will fit in more next season in my opinion.

I reckon he signed a one year contract and will not be offered a new deal. Imo he has been poor this season.

If Sercombe got injured, I think he would be suited to play at the top of the diamond. Getting in those pockets and he would see more of the ball, now we have JCH holding it up and laying out off.

There's definitely a player in there somewhere but whether it's a L1 remains to be seen imo. Great place for him to go on loan, get some games and recapture his form given his previous performances at Eastleigh. If he's still under contract for next season hopefully he returns in a positive mindset ready for pre-season!

Had a bit of the Wayne Brown about him, clearly a good player but probably stayed with Bournemouth too long and now he's struggled a little with the level of English football he's come in. Could see him going abroad and having a good career.
