Port Vale Chairman has threatened to put the club into administration following recent protests.May 5 th is the date.Says he'll pay all the bills until then.Has quite a history does Norman Smurthwaite of this sort of thing. The smurf freely admits he didn't even know where port vale played when he bought them. He's a Coventry fan. Personally I don't get these types of situations, bit then again I am relatively normal.

I did mean as nearer than where he lives now, Salisbury, Bristol or Yeovil But why would anybody with a young family want to move back to the North East, particularly if his wife and the kids are from the south? Although Coughlan's family still live in Sheffield anyway.

Yeah get that Topper and I certainly wouldn't as he's made his home in the south now. I would just have thought Scunthorpe are an attractive proposition to a lot of unemployed managers right now ?

With the turn over in managers I suspect many have a family base where the family is raised by the partner or wife. It’s not worth moving all to the place with all the hassle and disruption just to be sacked two years later. I’ve no idea but I bet at least half the managers rent/lease/ live in hotel or whatever whilst their families are brought up elsewhere. So DC could go anywhere and as the year goes on he’ll want to get back. Yeovil would seem an unlikely place but I would imagine Scunthorpe and similar clubs would be attractive wherever they are. Football and salary will determine it. As he use to tell us players will go anywhere if the price is right. UTG!

The two signings we made in January have (probably) saved us - the impact they've made is nothing short of remarkable. I'm happy to admit, I was hugely underwhelmed by both signings - albeit happy to give them a chance to prove themselves before writing them off; but I was certainly pretty certain we'd go down. WOW. Ogogo and JCH have been absolutely brilliant. JCH is the second coming of Any Rammell. He will keep us up. It's certainly taught me to never judge signings based on their past in future. It'll be incredibly interesting to see whether we've all learnt a lesson this window - almost certainly not; but we'd do very well to remember this window for years to come as it really should teach a valuable lesson. Absolutely agree in respect of JCH. His leading the line, robustness, abiluty to bring others into play and of course, the goals (oh, the goals!!) have been instrumental in our recent recovery. Like you, I'd rather watch a player a few times before judging him. With Ogogo, the jury's out a bit for me. I'm not completely convinced he has made that much of an impact. He's fine, a decent combative midfielder, but I'm not sure he's any better than what we have. He's no worse certainly, and a decent enough signing who adds to the midfield options, but I don't see his signing as responsible for changing our season. As someone else said, funny how we all see things differently. Given the options if we didn't have Ogogo would be Lines or Sincs I'd say he was a big improvement.

Not far from his Hartlepool roots either His roots are from Mansfield where he grew up and first made it as a professional footballer. A fair distance from Scunthorpe, can't see him being the man to take it on given his struggles with us already in L1 this season. Wherever he ends up though, I hope he replicates the success he found with us.

I admit, that was me! And I am very happy to be proven wrong..... for once Easily done and it is hard to be objective and patient when we were/are facing relegation in the face. I guess as Rovers fans we've had success with so many casts offs, journeymen, waifs and strays that we probably should bide our time a bit before being too critical? We've all been guilty of jumping the gun as Rovers fans I'm sure, even more easily done when there is such a malaise around off pitch matters and secrecy from our owners. Totally. At the same time, I want to make it clear that I always support each new player 100%. Soon as they put on the famous blue and white, they are one of us and need our 12th man spirit. Its just when we are in deep trouble and been struggling to score all season and we finally make a signing at the 11th hour to help us out of trouble and you see their previous record isnt the best, I felt underwhelmed and thought for certain we would go down. Happily to be proved wrong

Like I say, we all see things differently. I don't think he can be compared to Lines as they are a completely different type of player. The Sinclair comparison is valid, but I'm not convinced he offers any more than Sincs does. Good player yes, and I'm happy he's here, but he's more of what we already have, in my opinion.
