After tax, agent fee, we'll probably clear £80k. Great.

Why don’t they swarm over TL instead - he’s an international you know! JCH must be kept in order for me to renew next season. We need to show ambition ffs!

As soon as we get a half-decent forward all this crap starts. No doubt the Evil bleedin Post will soon be running the story, and I wouldn't put it past that rosy cheeked Lady Garden to try and get him, ignore the agreement, he's no Gentleman when it comes to getting what he wants.
The thing is, you don't seem to get this sh1t about other teams players, Ive seen nothing about Lapado or others, and even Stockley stayed at Exeter for some time, as did Doidge at FGR, and they don't get half of the crowds we do.
If they want to sell a decent number of ST's this summer, selling JCH isn't the way to do it.

We have signed him right? Not on loan or anything? Yes, he signed a contract. No details were released at the time, although Mark Robins at Coventry said the contract was one which would set him up for life. He was obviously talking out of his proverbial there. Perhaps but it could be that Robins was covering himself for letting him go and then getting grief from some fans who rated him highly. ( I know some didn’t rate him) If for example it was a two and a half year contract on high wages it may set him up. Just a few back of envelope jottings, 130 weeks (2.5 yrs) x 4000 = £520,000. Not bad for 2.5 years work. Look after it properly and yes it would set him up. At the end of it he’d still be only 26 and about to sign the best contract of his life elsewhere. I may be talking cobblers as I’m def not itk but perhaps.😉 UTG!

I think we should snap up any offer that comes in. After all, he's just a Coventry reject from Widdrington's limited book of contacts - after Wael was told to "just f**k off" after our transfer window activity I'd imagine he can't wait to get him out of the door !!!!!

We have Payne to return and with Tom Nichols scoring every other season ,no need to worry.

If Championship clubs are going to lose the plot over the guy just because he has scored 5 in 7 then they absolutely deserve to be rinsed. What I would ask is how many of them were interested in him before he signed for Rovers? They had probably never heard of him just like we hadn't.

We will receive a Freddo and a panda pop.
In all seriousness, the guy is 24, we should probably reject anything under 1/1.5 million if he keeps smashing them in, but he will probably leave for 500k or below.

Fans seem to have forgotten that he has already spent two years playing in the Championship scoring 9 goals in 70 odd appearances for Rotherham. So can't imagine any championship club is going to jump in and sign him at the moment. If he kept up a good scoring record for us next season then teams maybe more interested but my biggest worry is that every time this club gets a decent sum of money come in, it disappears into a black hole rather than invested in the clubs infrastructure to take us forward. Of course scouts might be going to watch Doncaster's Marquis, who has scored goals for fun for a few years now and Doncaster have manged to keep hold of him unlike us who sell players at the drop of a hat.

And proves yet again that slagging off players, staff and owners over a few stats needs to stop. The over reaction to his signing was embarrassing to be honest. No wonder he looks like he wants to tell everyone to f**k off when he scores. He probably read that thread!

The over reaction to his signing was embarrassing to be honest. No wonder he looks like he wants to tell everyone to f**k off when he scores. He probably read that thread! Who was slagging him off? I'm sure most are pleasantly surprised that he has stepped up to the plate and if his success rubbing it in poster's faces spurs him on to score more goals then that is fantastic in my opinion and I'm glad to have been of service. But strewth there seems to be a lot of point scoring going on based on 5 goals in two months. It's all a bit pathetic really. If he stops scoring and we get relegated we won't hear a peep out of the people giving it the big one now. Didn't hear a peep out of you about Payne, come to think of it... So okay, in the future I'll learn my lesson not to have any doubts about our signings whatsoever because they are all brilliant, like Payne and Bakayoko. Brilliant transfer business- how could I ever have had doubts?! :rolls eyes:

Unless he gets his head turned by all the rumours and the dreams of playing in the Championship and earning more money. Then his concentration isn't on our games, he stops scoring goals and we end up back in the sh**. Unless he gets his head turned by all the rumours and the dreams of playing in the Championship and earning more money. Then his concentration remains on our games, he continues scoring goals and we end up in the top half come May. We’ll be in the top half tomorrow night if we win.
