Sorry if this has been covered before, but why did the referee get changed at half-time on Saturday? Was he injured? Or did he just acknowledge that it would be better for both teams and the crowd if he didn't continue?

Certainly wasn't his professionalism, he was useless. Scrub that, they were all useless.

Lee Swabey has had a stinker in both games refereed at the Mem this season. He was getting absolute pelters from the crowd immediately prior to sending off Carrington in the game against Wrexham and he let Forest Green get away with GBH on a number of occasions in the first half.
Still it was a shame he didn't stay on, because I can't think of more than one qualified referee that would have sent Leadbitter off.

The general standard has been absolutely dire. We've won and lost games at the hands of poor decisions from referees this season. Even though some decisions are bound to be points of contention, some of the decisions officials in this league have made are just so bizarre and wrong I cant work out how exactly they reach them. Its a sad day when one persons inability to control a game and poor decision making can cost so much for so many. They have literally ruined so many games.
They said it would be bad but goodness me was that ever an understatement. I think I've seen one half decent performance from a ref so far. It really is amateur.
As for this particular decision, it was probably the right one or at least a point of contention between yellow and red. The rest of the game though, that it another matter entirely.
Who'd be a referee eh?

I agree, the refs have been very substandard this season, to let the whole FGR team get away with so much but punish our players for less was unbelievable, Leadbitter was a yellow card not red (IMO), neither player pulled out of the challenge, because nearly all FGR's players surrounded the ref, Leadbitter was sent off. We thought the ref's in L2 were bad.

Just looked at the highlights on YouTube and noticed on the corner leading up to the goal the ball is the wrong side of the white line, surely a linesman or ref can spot that even at this level?
