Morning Gasheads!
Bennett to join us within next 2 weeks according to Wellens. No mention of whether perm or another loan.
Have a good season, fellas!

Smashing. We will need to get in a new winger then that can consistently do the business.
Be warned, this time last year a number of Gasheads thought he was alright

I think he will do ok in League Two next season if he signs. In fact i think Swinedon may have a decent season.

Fair enough ,shame really ,so much ability but lacking the heart and will to succeed, suppose each new manager he plays for thinks they can be the one to get him to fulfill his potential,my own take? well if DC couldn't do it its unlikely any one else can.

Bennett is a very good L2 winger, his goals/games prove that in his time at Swindon & Pompey. Lower L1 is his top level atm though.
Good signing for Swindon

Bit unfair, he had some good games for us but perhaps did not fit in with the way we were playing to try and stay up. Good signing for Swindon, can't wish him or them luck though after the way they treated our fans after abandoned game.

A winger that does the business consistently isn't signing for Bristol Rovers.

I wonder if or how many of our potential signings are reliant on moves like this happening first to create some extra space on the wage bill

If he had sincs heart he would be in the prem Bit unfair, I just think Bennett is a streaky player. There's an odd mentality around football fans that they want to see a squad full of Sinclair type players, then you get a Sinclair and at every level he's played I've seen supporters say he isn't good enough. Bennett is a good player and probably has a good game out of every four in League One. It's pretty standard for most lower league attacking players that bounce around League One and Two. Personally I wouldn't be against Bennett staying, however the sticking point is clearly wages. He's a big earner and to free up cash Coughlan wants him gone.

Well I have been happy with GC's signings so far. It has always been my belief that a small squad of better quality players and bringing youngsters through is the way to go. A friend of mine reckons that Clarke signed a lot of average players because when he took one of and replaced him, no one would notice

"Really impressed by the signing of Bandito from Withywood Harmonica, reminds me of when Darrell Clarke signed a player and I wasn't impressed".
