It seems Swindon are keen to sign Kyle but our manager appears keen on kerping him here next season, I cerainly hope so. In my opinion Kyle is the clubs most skilldul player who can make things happen, I believe he will make things happen and with JCH up front we could be quite a handful next season. Clearly a talented, skilful player but flatters to deceive too often with little/no end product - probably why Portsmouth were so keen to get rid of him. There should be plenty of other wide men available in the summer and if rumours of his wages are correct we could do with freeing up funds. Agreed. No doubt about it he’s a got a great first touch but doesn’t seem to have a football brain and isn’t quick either. Always looks like he’s about to do something great but very rarely does and usually just slows the game down and allows defenders to recover / mark up. One of the biggest reasons we were so slow and laboured in our attacking this season pre - Cogs. Also incapable of staying wide no matter what side he was playing in yet described himself as a winger in one of his first interviews. To be fair every Pompey fan I know and I know quite a few said exactly what we were getting when he signed and they weren’t wrong.

Goodbye KB. We thought you would be a great signing but you are light weight, give the ball away too cheaply and have little end product. Despite being essentially a creative wide player Kyle scores more goals than TN who is a player that should be released. Kyle is a good player who should be a first choice player in the Rovers team.

Depends on how much we have to pay them. Such cynicism in one so young. Don`t disagree with you though. Wouldn`t be particularly happy, to see him back.

Wasn't he supposedly DC's number one target in that transfer window. Makes you realise how pivitol it was that DC left before the New Year.
Kyle maybe an average fourth div footballer but hopefully won't be troubling our first team again.

GC sent him out as he was no good to us because we we’re fighting in the relegation trenches for our lives! Bring him back next year at the start of the season when we are playing beautiful free flowing 1 touch football 👀,let’s see how he gets on then? Exactly my thoughts. Players like him need space and we were playing too compact for him to be effective. I thought he looked ok when he first arrived, but seemed to lose confidence as the team began to struggle.

He's a talented footballer. I think we should keep him. Hopefully we'll be playing a slightly different type of football next year to which he'll be better suited.

I think we should keep him.
He impressed me when he first came into the side at the end of last season, has good ball control and has the ability to score as well. In the right team with the right set up he could be very useful.
Think we should give him another opportunity once GC had worked some more of his transfer window magic!

I’ve been keeping an eye on the swindle town forum and match day threads are littered with “wasted free kick from bennett” “wasted end product from Bennett” and looking at some of his goals their keeper errors or deflections so no rush for him to comeback and hopefully we get something of a selling fee for him...he’s too light weight and doesn’t track back so doesn’t fit into our setup

Given he's hardly setting mid table Swindon alight then the sooner he's off our wage bill the better, GC could probably get two decent players in for his rumoured £4K p.w. salary.

He wouldn't really fit into the current set up as he is very comfortable on the ball and and is easy for team mates to find. We need players that trundle around and do not really want the ball right now. Also bennett is known to take up wide positions at times and that area of the pitch is simply not allowed under the current manager. He would be more creative if his final ball was better without a doubt but most of our players never even get to the stage when they have a final ball as they have already given it back to our opponents before that!

Yeah, he wouldn't fit into the current set up coz they actually get results. We want a player who was involved in getting us 17 points from 21 games, instead of the team that got us 32 points from the next 21.

Morning, Gasheads!
Summing up Bennett quite well, tbh. Obviously talented, but a bit of the headless chicken syndrome. His first couple of games for us he didn’t even look like a footballer but since then he has done fairly well - decent goal return balanced by some dreadful wastefulness.
Wellens definitely wants to sign him but if your reported wages are correct there’s no way we could afford that.
Looks like your season has been as mundane as ours. Always next year to look forward to.

Unless we get in a left footed winger I'd keep him, playing CM's and strikers on the left hand side is no good

I rate Bennett he gets criticised a lot for being wasteful mis-placed passes etc.. but that's what creative players do they don't play percentages like our midfield at the moment
but he's a exiting player to watch with fantastic feet control. I guess a player like Bodin/lines that when we were in the predicament we are wouldn't battle when you need to grind results
I for one hope he comes back next season plays in front of THD be good to see that combination
Wellens obviously sees something as he's now a regular starter & Broadbean is not

When he made his home debut my wife turned to me as they were walking out and said, “Wow, that mascot is almost as big as Tom Lockyer”. I had to break it to her that it was Kyle Bennett.
Physically he looks like a kid. Clearly GC’s approach is that no matter how good you are, first and foremost you have to earn the right to be on the pitch with your effort and graft.
KB didn’t do this. I don’t see him being part of a GC squad next year but only GC knows.

Morning to you, Kyle not the kind of player we needed in our season long battle to avoid the drop, talented yes, but frustrating, may have to accept a lower wage packet if he wants to find another club, as for mundane seasons, well ours has been anything but , with our battle to stay in league 1, brings with it a perverse kind of excitement! whereas you have never really been in any trouble or really threatened the play offs, see you soon one way or another!!

If wael gives GC at top 6 budget (😂😄😀) and GC goes out and signs some top L1/Lower Championship standard attacking players for a promotion push then I would keep KB here as a back up/luxury player as he has the skill and ability to be an assist to us in a winning side.
Problem is he is just that - a luxury player. He cant tackle, doesnt have any end product, and goes hiding when things are going bad. There is a reason why a player with championship talent is being loaned out by a L1 club to a L2 one, and the above is it.

Quite a few of the current team were involved in the first 21 games. Anyway coughlan has almost completed what he set out to do and he deserves credit for that without a doubt. My own purely individual problem is i cannot visualise rovers playing attractive football next season under GC.
