I can assure you DC didn't lie. Interesting that the only 'like' to your comment is from the OP, someone who consistently thinks everything is fine at the club. It's not. I think even hardened rose tinters such as myself are beginning to realise that. oh this club is right up the sh** creek both on and off the pitch without a doubt

Anyone else intrigued by GCs pre match interview?? He said that positive things have been happening off the pitch, that will put the club in a healthy position. Or something along those lines. Wishful thinking or is he hinting that something else has been happening?? Jacks on Filton Ave are staying open so GC will be keeping his 1990s Comb forward haircut?

Don't want this to be a GC slating post... BUT, this is coming from the man who said the Mem is good enough, budget is good enough AND the training facilities are good enough AND better than the facilities of Sheffield Wednesday. With that in mind, positive things happening off the pitch is probably the frame for the big screen I don’t think it’s doing GC a disservice to say that he is a ‘Yes man’, for the current board. And hey, we would all do the same if our employer gave us our first shot at a job usually requiring experience. As far as I am concerned GC’s job is purely about keeping us up (and he’s made a bloody good fist of that). I have no interest in his thoughts of the club off the pitch.

At this stage in the game I'm pretty sure most of us couldn't give a sh1t about what the Board are doing right now.

I've never said everything is fine at the club! It's just not as bad as loads make out. We all know we need a stadium to progress, but that was always going to take time. I have heard rumours the board have stopped looking, but on the other hand, I have heard rumours that things are happening behind the scenes. I don't know which ones are true. Personally I don't think they would appoint a CEO, increase the budget every season etc, unless they were still looking at doing other things. But obviously you know better. Coughlans comments would certainly tie in with a few rumours I have heard though.

Cant be long until the latest disappointing statement to come from the board.
Will take us just staying up in the league at this point in time.
Until we start seeing with our own eyes, the board has a long way to go, given up with patience, been 3 bloody years.

To find a new site and plan it etc, takes atleast a few years. Clubs that have the land already take years to plan it. Until we get a stadium don't exist big investment. We are already losing millions a season. Would make no sense to up our spend, until we have something more concrete. They have been upping the budget the right way though. Signing new partners, increasing revenue and then increasing the budget to the allowed amount. Yes they could gift money. But they would have to do that every year.

How long ago did we appoint architects for the state of the art training ground? Actions speak louder than words, I’m afraid and until we have some clear commitment I’m afraid I will not be getting excited about announcements regarding our long term future.

Personally I couldn’t give a sh** what anyone at the club or otherwise says about what’s going to happen at the club.
I treat everything as bullshit until I actually see something with my own eyes.
Too many false promises over the years.

Actions speak louder than words, I’m afraid and until we have some clear commitment I’m afraid I will not be getting excited about announcements regarding our long term future. Remember how they tried to deflect from Bodin’s sale by telling us they appointed some consultants and everyone lost their **** with excitement? I wonder what happened to those consultants...or if they ever existed... I, like a few others in this thread, have gone past caring about what happens off the pitch. I don’t expect serious change unless new owners rock up and who knows whether that change will even be positive. There are worse things than supporting a tin-pot lower league club. Reading that news report about salaries in the prem increasing by 15% makes me quite glad of the level Rovers operate at. We have players we can still relate to I suppose, rather then a bunch of millionaires from gated communities far removed from the trials and tribulations of the working class roots of the game.
