I know we are looking for a new striker, but just a reminder that Ryan Brunt only joined York on a one month loan, so he should be back with us by 1st Nov.
They have drawn one and lost two of the games Ryan has played and he has not scored - but to be fair they had a man sent off in both the games they lost. Nigel Worthington has also resigned as manager. Brunt has also played the 90mins in all 3 games.
I'd give him a game.

No thanks. Brunt is most definitely not the answer.

If he was anywhere near the player we had 2 years ago he would be amazing in The Conf. The thing is does he really want to play for Rovers in this division ?

From what I've seen people saying about him, York fans and a couple of other teams fans that came up against him, they haven't been too favourable. Jamie Lucas has more form.

Odd how he can play full 3 games for York but deemed unfit for us by DC in a lower division. Whilst I doubt Brunt's the answer to our goalscoring problems surely he can't be any worse than Cunnington was against a now ageing Coles?

At least he has gained some match fitness if nothing else. Should really score for fun in this league

When he was fit he terrorized defences in league 2 with his strength and determination to win every ball so in theory he should do even better in our league but it doesn't always work like that. Maybe the only way of not hoofing it one dimensional would be to have no target man. Then we'd have to play football.

He's a bigger option off the bench, but I'd like to see White get given more games before Brunty starts playing again.

I have to agree with you, it does make you wonder, IMO Brunty's match sharpness was a issue for us and at this stage we are at we can't afford to carry him at the mo to get him match fit, so out on loan. Maybe he will get there but I don't see him playing for the gas again but I hope I'm wrong. The thing is with Cunny, he doesn't like to be roughed up and Coles is a pro at it, the Ref's at this level are not good enough to spot that, he could've got away with murder on Sat as he got away with everything else! I thought Parkin was just the type of player we need up front, very strong, good touch, knew exactly where his strike partner was and although he didn't score, he knows where the goal is.

Brunt doesn't feature in DC'S plans and was dreadful at Altrincham.

Brunt doesn't feature in DC'S plans and was dreadful at Altrincham. But Harrison didn't "feature in Clarke's plans" either. Brunt wasn't the only player to have a bad game at Altrincham and he had less opportunity to get match fit than most. I'm not sure if he is the answer and I suspect that I am clinging on to the form that he showed in his first few games, but I do think he is worth a chance, if only from the bench.

I'm afraid Brunt is starting to look like another Anwar Uddin, Tom White or Mark McKeever. . Something post injury, whether physical or mental, stops them reaching the standards of performance they managed before.

Brunt hasn't scored a single goal in his last 29 appearances for Rovers dating back to 12th March 2013. He's also failed to score in 3 appearances for York.
Okay quite a few of those appearances were as a sub but it's still 32 games without a goal!
Not only has he not scored but his performances have been at best poor and more often awful.
We'd have more luck playing McChrystal up front!

anyone who was at altrincham or braintree will have little faith in brunt,if york wanted to extend his loan that would at least mean he was fit but i doubt they will.
