A) Danny is not injured B) you can never question work ethic Dan like Lines simply wants to play football and put everything into it but GC prefers pragmatic boring unadventurous football Football should be entertaining not just about a manager squeezing out results in the hope of keeping a job as long as possible He says in the press that Danny is a”big player for us” but won’t give him a look in? He’s 2 faced and is disrespectful to lads that have served the club well for the last 4 years in Lines and Leadbitter Thanks for your service but both will be off and I don’t think this guy will see next season out Holloway should’ve got the job and we could’ve built for the future playing football not hoofing it and playing with fear What nonsense.
DL is a great runner but a poor footballer, and a very poor defender. Simple as that.
Not sure where the rest of your nonsense came from??

Always enjoyed seeing Daniel Leadbitter play, could run for days and had a lot of pace. I hope he gets himself fit, plays games and enjoys his football next year. Good luck Danny.

A fit Danny Leadbitter is easily good enough for league 2 . Unfortunately for us we never really found out if he was good enough for league 1 because of his injury problems , but I think attacking wise he would have been but defending not so much. Good luck to him anyway.

Manager Michael Flynn said: "Daniel is a big signing for us. He is a big coup for us. Dan is very fit and quick, we have beaten off competition for him and I’m really looking forward to working with him this season."
Sounds like his agent played a blinder if he's convinced Flynn that he was fit enough to give him a 2 year contract after he spent most of last season out injured.

Thanks Dan. Important part of a very good 5 years at the Mem. When at his best he was very, very good and he will easily be good enough for League 2. In the first season in League 1 he was also very good but the injuries affected him. Good luck, he will do well in that league for Newport. UTG!

Danny Leads was a lovely guy. Met him a good number of times and was always up for a bit of a chat. Model pro but L1 was probably a step too far for him. Nothing wrong with making a decent living as a pro at L2 and I think everyone will agree that Mark Little is a step up.

Was half expecting him to hang up his boots following Coughlan's comments post season, so really chuffed he has found himself another club. His pace and ability to stretch defences supporting the class of Bodin scared defences stiff, unfortunately not as effective once Billy left, however no fault of Danny's and I really hope he can stay fit and enjoy a long and successful career.

Great signing for Newport if they keep him fit. Big IF though.

Were you happy with what you were watching August until second week of December? Purely curious. The second half of the season was by far surperior to the first, that much is just fact. Unless of course you somehow find entertainment in losing football matches. Performance wise we were entertaining to watch. Just couldn’t score. Now we’re playing sh** and very lucky to have signed jch. Each to their own I suppose, but I thought the football towards the end of DC's era was dire. I found it was a case of waiting for the oppositions first goal against a struggling, mistake-ridden team after which I could sit back and watch with resignation as we stumbled to inevitable defeat. DC had run out of ideas I'm afraid. He had the best budget he had ever had and blew it in incompetent fashion. He obviously knew Harrison was going way before anyone else. Hurst is his mate, so don't tell me that they hadn't talked, yet he made no effort (that was ever reported) to replace him, then brought in the absolute horrific car-crash that was Payne at the very last possible moment, and we all know how that went. you can always recognise when a manager is on the last knockings, and that happened when DC started to openly criticise his players and cancelled their days off, bringing them in for extra training. Apart from watering the players off, that's kind of an admission that his training methods are so crap that he has to make them do more to cover his deficiencies. Lo and behold, a few weeks later he was gone, and Stewart, knowing the writing was on the wall walked as well, he knew he wouldn't be retained by the next incumbent. It is my belief that DC is a decent L2 manager, but he has much to learn to be a success in L1, and as too clever for his own good with all his team and tactical changes. He got away with it for a couple of seasons until other side works him out, and he had no answer and was out thought in nearly every game at the end of his tenure. I think that Walsall fans are in for a big surprise once the season starts. They are already starting to comment that they haven't been told about players contract length etc., well, they ain't seen nothing yet! I also wondered about DC's attachment to Marcus Stewart. A brilliant player but I never saw what he brought to management. They got lucky with The Snake, but his other recommendations, especially the 2 Peterborough Specials, will go down in the annals of history as the worst acquisitions ever. I Love DC for the way he saved our club, a club that had been allowed to sink by a bunch of incompetents in the boardroom who completely took their eye off the ball as they desperately tried to pursue Sainsburys. David and Goliath didn't even come near to describing that mis-match. He came in with the club on its knees, assembled a side with players he mostly knew, and got us promoted at th first attempt by the skin of his teeth. Momentum carried us forward, and those were the 2 best seasons for me in a long, long time, since Gerrys first stint, actually. I can't understand the antipathy towards GC. He kept us up when it looked like we were finished, he really did. At least give him a full season before we start to rip him a new one, the bloke deserves that.

Flynns hardly going to admit to signing an injury-prone player who might manage 10 - 15 games a season. That would go down well n the board room and on the terraces. I wish Danny well. Quick but lacking other defensive qualities, and always seemed to give his all when playing.

I liked him. Sure technically not amazing, but his pace was incredible.
