Should be more than 12 considering they didn’t complete all their fixtures.

Bolton Wanderers are considered one of the bigger clubs with history in the game, like Southampton, who also played fast and loose a few years ago, points deducted then allowed to spend more money than we’ve ever paid and inevitably get promoted. Swindon town on the other hand, small town club from the West Country had financial irregularities a few years ago, not only stopped from winning a legitimate promotion to the top flight, but relegated two divisions, this punishment was recinded but can you imagine say Manchester City getting promoted to the premier league only to be relegated two divisions? It would be on the national news for whole close season!! One rule for the big boys, one rule for the so called little teams

What ever happened with the Doidge transfer?
Or is it still going through court?

If Bolton do go bust and are thrown out of the league who takes their place?
Given that teams in this scenario are cheats I would like to see the team in the league below with the best disciplinary record promoted, similarly, their place would then be filled by the team in the league below them with the best disciplinary record, and so on.
This would put a real incentive on discipline and could be used to change the scourge of behaviour in the game.

It wateres me off that clubs like Portsmouth, Bolton, swindon , and Bournemouth ( who are not run well today, just have a billionare backing them) get in trouble over and over again yet Clubs like ourselfs and Brighton have moved away from there home citys during there history just in order to stay afloat and not screw people over.

A team who might not have a ground. In 2nd is AFC Wimbledon, which raises a question for me. If a team got relegated (Plymouth are the highest in the fair play league in 4th) but won the fairplay league then would they be promoted to take Bolton's place or would it only be the top team that didn't go down?

If Bolton get thrown out then the gap isn't in the championship but in League one, it would be a league two team moved up and a conference team moved up to league two. I think you'd have to exempt relegated teams, it would be the highest placed team who have retained status for that league for the following season. The particulars would need working out, but what I'm looking at is a positive reward for fair play in a system that currently just seems to give an escape route to mis-management.

The only place they should wind up is at the bottom of the ladder like Wimbledon, Darlington, Hereford, and others have had to. Wimbledon started again with trials on Streatham Common!

The Scottish FA did a 'proper job' on Rangers a few years ago - the FA should follow suit and send them down to EFL 3 and reprieve Plymouth - mmmm!!

Hopefully they will go into administration and get a big points deduction and stay well below us next season, Oxford are facing another winding up order they have a court case pending in the summer after yet again failing to pay their ground rent, so they could also have points deducted if they go into administration, then still don't know what is happening over Coventry, just need one more club perhaps Bury and we could start the season well clear of the bottom four.

If the four relegation places were decided by points deduction it would be a pretty boring season for the majority of clubs; unless it led to, relieved of fear, an all or nothing free flowing attacking style. Hang on a mo Linesy.

Yep absolutely right, this is my point, until a big club, and they don’t come much bigger than Rangers in Scotland, gets punished properly in England then clubs will play fast and loose with the rules chasing the premiership dream. Like someone else said on here, expell from the league to the National league, transfer cap in line with the National league and see how many seasons it takes them to get back to league 1 let alone the championship.
