So a big clear out. With more likely to go if we can offload them (Payne, Bennett etc). Think letting Sincs go is a mistake. We've lost too many of the heart of our team took quick and this feels like the end of an era with only Ollie Clarke and JC left from our promotion from L2. It's going to be a massive summer and if DC was to be believed, our budget will be smaller. Especially with attendances decreasing year on year. I personally think GC is going to play an old fashioned 4-4-2 next season with a physical team with wingers. I think we hit our ceiling under DC and now gradually on the decline, I hope I'm wrong. I hope we're looking for another RB as JC and Partington won't be good enough to take us forward. We need more creativity in midfield and a poacher alongside JCH. You have to worry about our defence with Lockyer going and if Bonham doesn't come back. Craig is getting no younger.

I don't get why letting Sincs go is a mistake as purely on footballing grounds he's had his day, both his ability and knees have caught up with him and he's hardly played under either DC or GC this season, likewise Lines. We can't just keep players on sentimental grounds. The big question is can GC bring in better, the fact he brought in JCH & Ogogo suggests he can. For all we know he may have a good experienced goalie and CH lined up. Although it's mystifying why he's offered Parts a new contract after such a poor season but perhaps GC feels with a decent pre-season we'll see last seasons Parts rather than this season's, although he does fit the "strong & pacy" GC says he wants.
As far as the budget is concerned DC came out with so much nonsense it's hard to know what was the truth i.e. he wouldn't sell MT for £10m, it was good that Locks had signed a long term contract etc, etc.Plus Wael knows full well if he cuts the budget too much we'll most likely be relegated, although how much did DC waste on players like Nichols, Payne, Bennett & Mensah the best part of £1m in transfer fees and wages over the term of their contracts?

I can't remember if it was Sunderland or Portsmouth away recently but he was the best player on the pitch. So I think he does still have something to offer footballing wise. But obviously he's over 30 so he's had it now! 🙈 Also to add to that, we have lost a lot of big characters in a shirt time. Stu is just one of those and his presence and energy would have helped keep a steady ship.

I think we could do with a fair few experienced pros this summer - more Rodman than Mensah likes if that makes sense.

The silence and distance from our owners just grates me massively! Bring back Higgs updates! Fair play to him for that in hindsight not a lot else 😜

I think he had a good season this season and his versatility was needed as he managed to do a job at LB, CB and RB.

We are going nowhere except downwards unless real investment is made into the stadium, training ground and the squad.
Wake up to the real world. These owners have no available money or won’t invest if they have.
We will hover between league 1 and 2 unless there is a change in investment and mentality.
The supporters are the only reason why some believe we are a bigger club than we are.

Not sure why people keep saying we’ve lost too many of the old team? They got us out of the conference and then league 2. It would be very unlikely that all those players would still be good enough 2 divisions higher. 1 or 2 maybe but not all of them.
I’ll always be grateful but they can’t go on playing for us indefinitely.
