Good shout. They did well to get him on a permanent from Brum. I can see him going for a decent fee to someone like Charlton or club of that ilk this summer. Btw, apparently Reece Brown is out of contract this summer so will be able to move for a compensation fee or if not settled by a tribunal, unless he decides to sign a new deal. I suspect you are the only man within 20 miles of the Mem to realise this.

Though somewhat out of form to a degree going into the play offs I’ll go with Leeds Sunderland Tranmere Was just going to put the same three down. Think Villa might be out of gas now. Sunderland must be too big to fail and I like the idea of Tranmere doing back-to-back playoff promotions.
Leeds Sunderland Tranmere (for avoidance of doubt)

Got to say that Monthe for Tranmere has looked good. Thought he looked familiar and then realised that he used to play for Bath.

Have you both just gone for the biggest teams in the play offs? Leeds are on a shocking run of form, Sunderland will struggle to get past Pompey then have to probably beat form team Charlton, Tranmere are struggling to even beat 10 man FGR tonight. I'd go Villa Charlton Mansfield

Finished 1-0 to Tranmere. I still think FGR will win the tie overall.

Very comfortable on the ball and willing to play out from the back and in tight areas. They have enough going forward with the likes of Grubb, Brown, Williams, Mondal, Mills from LB and Doidge to turn the tie around in the 2nd leg.

I'd go Villa Charlton Mansfield I guess we’ll see in a few weeks. Spurs and Arsenal were on poor runs of form before the events of this week. No fun in just picking the favourites. Seriously it would be fun to see Leeds in the Prem and good not to have Sunderland in L1 next year

Both sides looked more comfortable on the ball and had better passers and passages of play than I’ve generally seen from us this season. Admittedly I’ve only seen a handful of away games where we’ve been better, as well as most of our home games where we’ve been poor.
I honestly feel that when we were in this position four years ago we had a better side than we finished this season with , or at least as good.
Hard to say as we’re 2 divisions higher now of course different time different division.
It’s not necessarily the players , it’s how they’re set up and their strengths played to as well.
Maybe the team we had since December last year are loads better than tranmere , F Green, but I just don’t see it.
I really hope we can inject some Taylor , Bodin , lines type quality in to the side over the summer and play on the front foot.

Tale of the two talismen tonight. The criminally overrated Doidge & Norwood who turns into a thug when things don’t fall his way. That is one striker who will easily be dominated by your higher quality L1 centre half.

Got to say that Monthe for Tranmere has looked good. Thought he looked familiar and then realised that he used to play for Bath. Didn't watch him tonight but not a fan. Seen him live for FGR and thought he looked clumsy.

Seen him live for FGR and thought he looked clumsy. Clumsy oaf of a centre half. He merely bullied the FGR front pairing every time they were anywhere near the ball. Probably the easiest nights work he’ll ever have, given the 10 men from Nailsworth offered little attacking intent all night. A decent striker would’ve had him tied up in knots, Doidge was only interested in going to ground in the box though. I still fancy FGR to go through over the two legs, Tranmere were so poor with the man advantage it was untrue.

So today’s offerings.... Which I’m slightly tempted to leave the house for the afternoon & take in 1 or 2 of these matches in the local public house. Aston Villa Vs West Brom - Home Win I remember watching Dwight Gayle playing and scoring for Stansted against Bodmin Town with Kevin Miller in goal for the Cornish side. When I heard he went on trial to Dagenham I sent an email to the chief scout at the time to see if we could potentially hijack the deal, but it wasn't to be. He has always been a good goalscorer AND a scorer of good goals:

Textbook play off match so far, Villa dominate the ball and play, one mistake at the back & they’ve been punished. I’d be gobsmacked if they didn’t at least pull level.
