Out of interest, how often does it happen that a manager drops to a team the league below whilst still having 2 years on his contract?
If GC did go to a team the division below, would that be a sign of where we are at the moment?

For goodness sake give the man a break!!! Totally agree what has GC done that is so unforgivable and deserving of the vilification he is getting from some folk,he's achieved a lot more in keeping us in League 1 than some of the bell ends that have managed our club. He said it would be a scrap and not pretty and it wasn't but that's what is required when your 4 points adrift at Xmas. He shipped out the deadwood and brought in 2 guys who were instrumental in saving us from the drop He may not have the polish of many Managers and drops the occasional clanger but who doesn't. Let's see what the summer brings then make a judgement after 10 games in that's the least the man deserves. Using your words not mine the tide has turned and brought back some of the driftwood back inshore. Vilification of players released or loaned and labelled deadwood is not nice in my opinion! Nicolls was signed by DC and hardly ever dropped. GC persisted in playing him. Two managers plus his previous club manager must see something there! but vilified on this forum. I think DC was a good manger at the level we were playing at the time but his style of football was all about scoring more than those goals conceded IMO. Taylor, Harrison and Bodin were the reason. DC failed to replace them and paid the price. GC I like, but feel he has let himself and the club down massively by having a public spat with Lines. If the alleged reason was to refuse to go out on loan is true why does GC often state he respects a player wanting to leave when he wants them to stay. GC had no reason to say what he did it was more petulance even anger IMO

Far bigger drop than league one to league two. Although Rovers won't be the best payers I don't think Plymouth will multiple GC's wages to the same comparison that Revie got!

He might end up at Plymouth, but odds mean nothing, when it's do with manager's. When we have been looking for a manager, the favourite has hardly ever got the job lol.

If Coughlan can produce results/form with the ragbag lot he inherited from DC and the collective zero confidence that was flowing through the squad. I for one am excited to see what he can do with his own group that he himself would have assembled over an entire summer. I continue to act surprised that some Gas faithful give him flack & completly overlook the rusty tools he was left with & the stone cold fact that he was the one that bought Jonson Clarke Harris on board. ‘He was lucky’ is such a cop out & an incredible lack of respect. Gasheads can be great, but my god some of them are ungrateful mush for brains at times. Great Post.

With Geoff Twentyman. Radio Bristol - 6pm. Just a heads up! Not sure I want to listen to this - don't think I will like the answers! "We're working to a toyt budget and moy criteria for signings will be minimum of 6ft and ability to run 100m in 11 seconds. Must also have a background in bare knuckle foyting to show they're up for a Foyt and willingness to get their teet into a relegation battle" Surely dares more to Rovers Dan dis? nice bit of p*ss taking Eric. So 70’s. Any chance you might be on the radio tonight to hear your views. Or even to hear your accent!

Only at Rovers would you have a manager who comes in open and honest with a “We all know what I’m working with, it’ll be a struggle and it won’t be pretty. But we’ll keep this team in the division” Only to go on, complete that objective in the EXACT manner in which he told us he would & have supporters slag him off for it thereafter. It really is incredible.

Will it be an extra long show seeing as he repeats himself over and over again. He might need to run his socks off before it starts just to get in the mood. They're a great bunch of lads at the BBC
