Alan Nixon (The Sun) reporting: BRISTOL ROVERS. In for Ryan Edwards at PLYMOUTH. Not only ones. — 6’5, 25 years old. Could be a useful addition. For a aecond there I thought that said he was 65 years old and 2'5".

Plymouth fans don't want him to re-sign with them though. They say he's too slow, can't turn etc. Would be a worry pairing him with an ageing Craig IMO. We would end up sitting too deep, or get exposed in behind a lot. Coventry fans were glad to see the back of JCH, on this season's form alone we're not to upset to see Lines leave. Bonham had poor second half to his season at Carlisle. I think we should learn to judge players when we see them in the quarters not by posts on other clubs forums.

I will, just saying what thier fans have said, as this is a forum. Plus you can't change someone's sprinting speed a lot at that age. So what I said about sitting deep or bring caught out with that pairing is right. He's not signed yet anyway. If he does, I won't judge him until I have seen him play a few times myself. A lot of Coventry fans were sad to see JCH go, it's our fans that were moaning lol. I saw a lot of good comments about him. Bonham was young and still learning, still is. I agree fans are not always the best judge though. But the pace part is worrying, if we are playing a high line.

for defenders its not always about pace or height, Gary Mabutt not the tallest CH but played for England. Its more about positioning and anticipation, which applies to everyone on the pitch but especially defenders and attackers

Well it is the difference between good and not so good players, and you see it a lot at Rovers when a ball gets played through from midfield but no one moves for it. Another example was Cureton; when he started he made lots of good runs which went un noticed. Maybe next season they will all be a bit better.

The EFL has today confirmed the deadlines for the 2019 summer transfer window following the recent decision to adopt a split approach for Clubs in the Championship, and those in League One and League Two.
The deadline for Championship Clubs for all incoming permanent and loan registrations will close at 5pm on Thursday 8 August, 2019. League One and League Two Clubs will have until 5pm on Monday 2 September, 2019, due to August 31 falling on a Saturday. Today’s confirmation follows a consultation process with Clubs, who voted their preference prior to a formal vote at last week’s Extraordinary General Meeting.

It's nearly impossible to play with a high line, with 2 centre backs though. As your positional sense could be great, but if the ball is played into space in behind, they will never win that race. Teams that have 2 centre backs tend to sit deep, for that reason. Making it harder for the midfield. One without pace is ok, but I wouldn't like to play 2 centre backs without pace, next to each other.
