not at all surprised they both went there. Honestly don’t think Stewart could go out on his own and be a manager. Not at least after seeing him take charge of the team on the few occasions he did when he was here.

Thought DC might benefit from having 'wise' old head like Ward around , think he would have benefited from such a source in his last couple of months at Rovers, then again perhaps there is some not good history from there time together at Rovers ,Trolls and Lennie were great together and Trolls suffered when those in there wisdom got rid of Lennie, doing great work now at Newport in same role, good job for Stewie ,not manager material.

"Wax on, wax off Darrell-san" - Don't think he needs anyone holding his hand the way Trollope did.

There’s hope lads! Taken from the Walsall forum.
SaddlerHQ
Saddlertd 3d Stefan Payne on season long loan perhaps?
DC signed him for Brizzle after his excellent season at Shrewsbury but he flopped there and didn’t do much back on loan at Sloppies. Wouldn’t be against Tom Nichols either but think him and Gordon are similar type of forwards so not sure they’d work as a combo.
1
jjunior9 3d I would love to see Nichols at Walsall. With Candlin and Gordon, that’s a youthful front three to take the club forward. Four strikers is necessary (even Whitney could see that). If Cook left for a fee, I wouldn’t mind Agyei back. At league two level, we need quick pacy players to capitalise on errors made by slow centre-halves. If anyone saw Newport play on the box in the FA Cup, they were very direct. Granted an experienced striker would be lovely and we need some height; however, I would spend the money on a leader at the back who can score the odd set-piece. An Adi Viveash type - any names spring to mind, anyone?

Please don’t take both of them DC. Without their goals last season we’d have been a whole point worse off

Listening to Having a Gas it is clear that Marcus is a great bloke, was a big part of our success and is hugely respected. Who cares if he’s crap at interviews. DC can be ruthless and it says a lot that he’s taken him with him to Walsall.

Matter of time before Darrell signs a former Rovers player. Who will it be though?

DC can be ruthless and it says a lot that he’s taken him with him to Walsall. Unfortunately, that the modern way. It's more about appearances and how you come across on TV than it is to go about your work on the training ground. Any new manager would be wise to get some media training and invest in a slim fit suit, grey v neck jumper and some designer brogues. Nobody will take any notice of results because you look the part.
