1-2 Alfreton sort of sounds familiar. Sincs and James Clarke playing at their true standard and should do well but mid table for me this season and only worry about us-DC is gone so lets forget him and get behind GC. That was Altrincham you’re thinking of.

That was Altrincham you’re thinking of. Yes, Alfreton away way 0-0 (if I remember rightly). A Tuesday night and weather was crap but I think we still took about 700. I remember pretty much having to climb through a bush to get to the one away turnstile and as we walked onto the terrace the stewards saying ‘welcome to non-league lads!’.

We’ve just had a fans focus meeting with Clarke tonight.
What a human being. Everyone already loves him - what a bloke.

You really need a bitter local rival so he can be caught by a reporter checking their results and saying “happy days” when he sees they have lost But always remember when he says “me supporters” he really means us! *sniff*

We’ve just had a fans focus meeting with Clarke tonight. What a human being. Everyone already loves him - what a bloke. He talks very well to the fans, doesn't he? Always seems to be in tune with what they're thinking and says it how it is. HOWEVER, he gets a bit too close and involved. He wears his heart on his sleeve and if he thinks he is being let down by your owner/ BOD he takes it personally and starts to criticise. What you'll also have to get get used to is a total news black- out on injury and transfer news. He also likes to treat each match as an individual 'project' which means you'll see baffling weekly team changes that no-one but DC can see any sense in. Oh, and please don't think that all Bristolians talk like Marcus Stewart. He's got a special South Bristol accent that is spoken by the majority of Sh1!heads. He's from an area called Hartcliffe, one of the most deprived areas in Bristol where the definition of confusion is Fathers Day and brides traditionally wear a white tracksuit and use a bus shelter for protection. Bloody good player in his day though.

Oh he mentioned ‘project’ about 50 times 😂
Other highlights:
‘I should receive a knighthood for what money I got for Andy cook’
‘Fishing is for weirdos’ in ref to Sinclair.
‘I’ll give the players a slap’
‘I hate agents’
‘I hate the press’
‘Players can have a drink on a Saturday if we win’
What strikes is me is how in tune he is already with what we want. I love him.

Gets too involved if anything and if he feels the fans need to know things behind the scenes aren't going well he will tell the fans exactly that. Always holds his hands up if things are his fault and isnt afraid of keeping a big name out of the team. As mentioned by someone else he sees every game as a project. He expects his players to be able to switch to multiple tactics and if he's got the project wrong hes not afraid to make subs after 20 minutes to change it. Ignore his pre season results. I've seen a few of your fans disappointed but for DC pre season is just fitness. You will have the fittest squad you can remember for a long time under DC. He always starts slow. Did every year for us but he gave us brilliant memories and will you guys too.

Yeah he looked very relaxed. He was very complimentary about the Rovers fans - said it was a special club to him.
He also said he had learnt a lot after reflecting the last few months and made the point of saying he has learnt to ‘not get involved in the politics anymore’ After citing broken promises by the Gas board as reasons for his departure.
I just can’t believe we have got him!
