I remember the 6-1 at our place in about 2012 too 😉 I think we were 1-0 down at half time. I sit behind the dugouts and your manager at the time said just before half time we were ‘the worst attacking team he’s seen this season’ Oh it was fun second half 😂 Remember back in 1983 Rovers offered free coach travel for fans to Walsall. A fleet of coaches went although it wasn't worth it as we were thumped 5-0. I was at that game. Didn`t Alan Buckley get four, or something ridiculous? I`ve got a feeling that they offered us free transport up there, by way of apology for the previous shambles.

Wonder what they think of him now They probably think he's a bloody good manager, which we all know already. Probably not given they've scored 2 goals in 5 games and got battered today.

I’d be worried for them if they started well under DC

Plymouth are unreal at that level, once they come up they’ll challenge for promotion much like Luton

It's started already! From their forum:
PeeFourTeeFive
Whilst I was content to wait a few more games if there were signs of improvement - that is clearly not happening. Lord knows what they do on the training ground - clearly no defensive work or practising set pieces.
Clarke out - a non-league manager and that’s exactly where he is taking us.
The guy couldn’t successfully rotate himself out of bed let alone rotate the starting line-up properly. Pathetic.

He completely changed in the time he was here from desperately trying to win games to doing everything not to lose them. Not sure if he can get the winning mindset back.

Yeah but in fairness if they'd looked on our forum just prior to our double promotion they'd have been quoting people on here calling him 'clueless' and a lot worse. How do we think that turn out for the posters concerned?

DC started every season with about 3/4 points after the first 5 games
They’ll get used to it.
I’m still sure he’ll do well for them

DC will turn it around, slow burner, every games a project, blah blah, but gets results, and delivers promotions, what’s not to like .?

Can't remember anyone saying Clarke out after 5 games in charge because of his management style with us.
There were plenty when we got relegation to non league. And plenty thought his appointment was wrong.
One poster doesn't sum everyone up....but I guess there's always a few that voice their feelings early.

After 5 games DC was picking up leaflets from the training ground with his face on it saying DC OUT. I’d say at the time that 70% of the fan base was calling for his head at that time

My point is no one called for him to go in his first 5 matches. Those were in the 4th division.

Perhaps a few, probably less than 100?Can’t tell can you really? Bit of an arbitrary figure? By the end of September after 5 consecutive wins it was all good, until Alfreton away!!😉 UTG!

Ah apologies, I thought you meant first 5 of the season. My bad Hey no worries, easy to forget he took us down but some accredited the responsibility to others such as ward or higgs. Our first few games in Conference were awful and there was a big disgruntlement..... mainly because (I think) alot of the fanbase assumed we would storm it as we were too big, too good, and way too proud to be in that division in the first place. We learned to acquire some humility first. Then dish out some humiliation. It takes time that some fans aren't prepared to give, but it's a good lesson to take forward when you can be mature enough to take holistic view on things.

I’m mostly going from what I remember on the forum tbh, most seemed to want him gone. And within reason who could blame them after the last 8 games and first 5 as o2 (sorry mate your username is too long to remember) pointed out. But he also makes a god point, I actually think if we didn’t start so poorly, we wouldn’t have done as well as we did. As he mentioned, I think learning humility and accepting where you are is the first step to getting promoted.
