I have an interesting take on this GIVEN some fans assumptions on CL ability. CL believes he was good enough to start for BRFC and he would still be here if Darrell Clarke was. Therefore believes he was a L1 standard player. It therefore begs the question if the above is taken as a constant why he isn’t joining up with DC at Walsall. I raise this on three fronts. 1. Walsall is nearer than Northampton 2. Walsall you would assume are a better bet for promotion as northampton are mediocre 3. The supposed relationship with DC Mind you I think he is overrated anyway and probably play no more than half a season before fans realise he is a luxury they can do without Post reporting today DC made a bid for him just before he signed for Northampton. Probably didn’t offer enough. Player has discredited this himself but been very complimentary of D.C. how much of that is a sleight against GC is unclear though.

Anyone know what happened to the 10 million pounds Northampton owed to the town's rate payers for that new stand they built?

Incredible that a local council were stupid enough to loan a lower league football club that sort of money in the first place.

Incredible that local council were stupid enough to loan a lower league football club that sort of money in the first place. Really, a local business with loads of goodwill in the community, established over 100 years ago, towards a project to enhance the local area, and community facilities? Seems like a perfect place to invest, to me, and exactly what local authorities should be doing. Kinda weird how people seem to blame local authorities for stuff, rather than, and I'm gong all caps and a few numerals for emphasis now, THE P3OPL3 WHO ACTUALLY STOLE THE FRACK1NG MONEY!!!!

Honestly if we needed say £10M to facilitate our move to a new stadium, or similar deal, and the local authority was in line to help us out (never happen in Bristol, of course) and they pulled out coz they took the position that lending to a football club would leave them particularly vulnerable to theft, can you imagine what the average Gashead's reaction would be? It wouldn't be well done BCC, for looking after the hard-wroking rate-payers money, would it?

That doesn't make sense as it wasn't the football club that made the money disappear and no I wouldn't want Rovers or any other club to benefit from money from tax payers.

It can be beneficial to the community if gym and other fitness facilities are built into the stadium and made available at cheap rates to local people on non-match days. For the cost of an investment which might make the difference between getting a new stadium or not, the club have their shiny new ground, and local people have a state of the art fitness centre for no more than it would cost to build a new sports centre. Win-win.
