That's almost a complete squad, so really need to get rid of some, imo.

Don't forget James Clarke, Luke Russe and Deon Moore. They will have a part too, if Clarke and Moore signs new deals that's been offered.

Won’t happen as I think too much has gone on but I’d love to have seen us get a motivated Payne and pair him with JCH running at those League 1 centre backs, terrifying!

GoalkeepersAlexis Andre Overview: Needs strenghtening ASAP. Hopefully Bonham and/or Lynch are coming to fight for the #1 jersey. DefendersJoe Partington Tareiq Holmes-Dennis Michael Kelly Tony Craig James Clarke
Rollin Menayese Alfie Kilgour Overview: With the lad from Coventry possibly signing, the only real issue CB-wise is having two relatively unproven youngsters as direct backup (Rollin and Kilgour), even though I fancy them. LB-wise, I think we're fine as long as Tareiq stabilizes himself and manages to show his full array of skills, with Kelly as a reliable backup option and good potential for the future. RB is the position to strenghten ASAP IMO, since we've only got Partington and he's more of a supportive fullback, unlike Tareiq who can really make a difference. MidfieldersAbumere Ogogo Ollie Clarke Ed Upson Liam Sercombe Kyle Bennett Sam Mathews Bernard Mensah Alex Rodman Overview: Defensively, we're good. Ogogo and, should we keep him, Upson can play a holding role, Clarke can perform both holding roles and running roles, Sercombe is a runner by trade (and I hate when he's pushed off to the side to play winger), Matthews can also play central as long as he trains marking and positioning. As has been the case with us for a while now, the pressing issue is creativity. One or two midfielders who can do what Lines did and more. As for wingers, Mensah and Bennett I don't see staying, and frankly, they're replaceable (as long as we HAVE the pieces). Rodman is the sole key wide man, and this is a section of the team we need strenghtening too. StrikersStefan Payne Tom Nicholls Deon Moore
Jonson Clarke-Harris Gavin Reilly Overview: Basically, if we're really going 4-4-2, we only reeeeeeally need a backup targetman for JCH. Though it would be nice to have a better option for the poacher role than Nicholls, too inconsistent, and Reilly, whose performances have been more miss than hit. Payne I don't see staying either. Bottom line: The pressing issues are: GK, RB, creative CM, wingers. The less threatening issues are CBs and a target man. The luxury options are poachers. As for who needs to leave, no one. I only think Payne, Bennett and Mensah aren't staying because they've been deemed surplus for requirements by the club itself. We've lost too many already.

I think strikers are the easiest position to potentially over a fanbase. Payne starts scoring goals and looks motivated and the fanbase could be won back. EDIT: Everyone is including Partington, did I miss him agreeing to his new deal?

Payne, Mensah, Menayese and Bennett sell on to raise a bit of funds, Matthews and Alexis Andre loan out to gain experience.
That leaves us needing:
GK x2 CB x2 RB RW LW CAM ST
Wasn’t expecting us to need so many signings but with us losing Lockyer and releasing both senior keepers as well as looking a little short on the wings, we’ll need a fair few reinforcements though fully expecting some of these to be loans.

How do you make certain words "blacker", as you did with keepers, defenders, midfielders & strikers?

Perhaps! Nearer the reality because to compare them with Bannister and Warboys in term of football is a bit of a stretch. UTG!

I agree.I remember his first goal at home for us I thought he was a decent player.I would try to off load him, but if not I would let him have a clean start here under GC. As much as I love DC towards the end of his time here he couldnt get the best out of players.GC some how took an awlful attacking side to safety after looking like we were doomed before. Like I say, With Payne try to move on but if not, give him a fair 2nd chance.
