How about a transgender manager ? I always thought Vinnie Jones might make a good manager. I don't think he's transgender, though. Might be. It's so hard to tell, isn't it?

Not for me! Call me sexist or old fashioned but it would annoy me initially. I’m just being honest and expect a backlash of which I couldn’t care less about. I’m sure I could live to grow into it but still stuck in my old ways! I always thought Hope Powell would get a go but at the same time “not at rovers though” - it also annoys me blokes managing female sides, so at the same time so I’m fair with my sexist views! Men in men’s game and women in women’s game! Sorted! Otherwise they should make a mixed game and drop all barriers!

The job should always go to the best candidate regardless. Unless s/he's a ted. Don't we have a "ted" lady coach working for the club now and has been for some time ?

It was being reported over the weekend that Chelsea's Ladies Manager Emma Hayes would like to be considered as the next manager of the Men's team if they sack their current manager How would you feel if Rovers offered her the job if and GC moves on ? I think it would certainly give us more exposure in the Media and maybe bring a fresh perspective to our game and i would welcome it Hayes is a fantastic coach and manager, I genuinely think with a Director of Football/Recruitment to help with signings she’d do a great job in men’s football. I think the first to go from a women’s coaching job to a professional men’s job will be Phil Neville which, is odd because he’s one of the worst currently coaching in the women’s game. I haven't seen either Neville or Hayes take a training session so no idea how good a coach either is.

We're years away from the kind of tolerance this would require, sadly. Look at the crap Alex Scott gets just from being on MOTD every now and then. She's an excellent pundit, miles better than some of the former (male) players they wheel out who offer virtually nothing of interest. As long as she's still receiving "Get back to the kitchen" comments, there's no chance of change. I don't care what gender a presenter is but the whole point of a pundit is someone who has played at the same level, in front of huge crowds and TV audiences and under the same massive pressures. Ladies football is still very low profile so I don't see someone like Alex Scott can be qualified to provide expert comment on Prem or Champions League games. Would a semi pro ex player from a Bath City for example have any credibility talking about top flight football? Having ladies on the panel of every match now is just political correctness and I'm surprised they go on when it is clearly tokenism. Cricket is similar, how can a female player talk about the required techniques for facing 95 mph deliveries? Something like Tennis for example would be different where a Navratilova type is just as capable of providing expert analysis on men's as well as women's matches, same for a Paula Radcliffe commenting on men's athletics, Gail Emms on badminton etc....

No reason not to consider a female manager, womens football is widening the appeal of football and women being involved in the game can only increase interest. Rovers are bringing back the Gas Girls who knows? if they are successful maybe one of them could be a Rovers manager in future

So using your analogy are we as mere fans not allowed to make comment of our team performance ? Its all about opinion and as many many of you know, i don't have a clue about football systems etc but i do like to make comment about my teams performance after a game Alex Scott for all her "inexperience" puts over a very concise opinion which i can understand. She is a far better pundit than Jamie Carragher, who after all his years experience in the game, talks a load of Waffle at the best of times

She is a far better pundit than Jamie Carragher, who after all his years experience in the game, talks a load of Waffle at the best of times I'm not talking about fans having a right to an opinion on football, every man, woman and child who watches a game can obviously comment as much as they like. I'm talking about people paid to be experts and provide expert opinion based on their high level experience. Someone like Alex Scott may have a decent knowledge of tactics, more than those of us who comment on here, but can she comment on what it's like playing in a Championship Play Off final, the richest and possibly most pressurised game in football? Does she have the experience of what it's like to play in a Champions League final in front of 100,000 fans and hundreds of millions watching on TV worldwide? Does she have experience of fighting relegation from the premier league on the final day and all the pressures and consequences that brings? I think not whereas the examples I gave from Tennis, Athletics, Badminton have the experience and understanding of what it's like to play their particular sport at the highest possible level and under the highest pressures. Their analysis is respected and qualified. IMO the likes of Carragher, and particularly Gary Neville, are amazing pundits. Been there, done it, know how football works at the top level. If it's just about everyone having a right to an opinion perhaps pick pundits from the general public like jury duty and make it available on the red button - only their families would tune in.

The way females are forced down our throats as pundits today on the BBC and Sky is a disgrace. Its PC gone mad and shocking. The BBC said on its website about Man City being the first male side to do the treble. Why bring that up then football has been a male sport for the best part of a hundred years.
