Not that I give the OP much credence, but that site is awful far south for me. Uncomfortably close to City heartland.

One of my first holiday jobs as a lad was working shifts on that site when it was a BRS parcel depot. Had to walk past the old 'glue factory', never known a stench like it. Easy walk for away fans coming into Temple Meads, and the cafe on the Paintworks could benefit. Thunderbolt could become a home fans pub! Short walk to Avon Meads and Showcase cinemas. Don't believe it for one moment though! Also walking distance to pubs in Redcliff and Old Market, plus the Barley Mow. Also lots of breweries in St Phillips which open on Saturdays

Thunderbolt is closed most daytimes I think and Paintworks would probably close as they wouldn't want nasty football fans in there. Plenty of options in Old Market and St Phillps agreed.

That wouldn't have happened from the late 60's onwards though just like there wouldn't have been an issue if City and Rovers had their grounds across a park since 1900. Lots of potential agro i'm afraid if the ground was too close. The Feeder is a nice barrier even though thissurely won't happen.

Having a ground very close to your neighbours takes the agro out of it as far as I'm concerned. Everton vs Liverpool, Dundee vs Dundee United and to a lesser extent Manchester United vs Manchester City are usually quite passive derbies as there isn't that geographical divide.

Correct Severncider, nothing to do with the current/not current anymore owners 🤔 Ok I’ll take the bait , I hate posts like this , listen , post some actual proof of whatever it is you are spouting on about , or just shut up. Sorry if it comes across as rude but I’m sick to the back teeth of this type of bollox. If you have nothing to back up your claims , you’re simply just seeking bit of attention which you have clearly got.

Assuming you would need some sort of commercial build to help the funding of the stadium you would need to take a lot of the land around the fruit market, on its own it is way too small. Residential build would need change of use, can't see it being a very attractive site for a hotel or retail park. Like most things down in what used to be called The Marsh, this smells a bit fishy. Just about north of the river but also perilously close to bandit country just over the way. It's the Fruit market, not the Fish market!

There won’t be any trouble because when we’re playing at home they’ll be playing away..... and we all know they’re a very well supported club away from home . So there will be no one to have aggro with.

If we have our new stadium on the old fruit market, our supporters could be known as the fruity boys, Boulders might like that.

Correct Severncider, nothing to do with the current/not current anymore owners 🤔 So you are now suggesting the ALQ's are no longer the current owners, June's AGM could be interesting then if they don't turn up!

For a club that applied for planning for three barn conversions on the Colony site and had the application thrown out because it failed to include one simple report, took nearly a year to get a screen put up, failed to put its accounts in on time which has been described as shoddy by a financial expert , how on earth would we ever manage to buy land, get finance to build a stadium, get planning permission and get the stadium built. Not only do our present owners need training in PR ,but they just don't appear to understand how to run business in this country. Who said anything about it being the present custodians who are involved in this? Here we go again are you prepared to share your amazing in the know information

It ain't happening shags. I think we all know that, but we debate it coz it's fun, and we think we could be big one day, which we won't be. But we can dream

The logic has to be the Mem.
1) What a glorious spot. 2) Were bound to get the Ashley Down Station back at some point. 3) We (DS) own it. 4) it fits a stadium. 5) it’s good day out.
Other use? What about everyone that lives there. Plenty to cater for.
