I have refrained from commenting on this thread, as (I suspect like all of us) I have no idea what the intentions are of the Al Qadis. I can only go on what Wael has stated which is that they are here for the long term. But I am very irritated by the criticism of the Supporters Club and the suggestion from Roady in particular that they are a waste of time. Firstly, I am a member, have been most of my life, but am not an official or committee member. Go to a match with no sign of the SC - where will you get a programme? Or a 50/50 ticket? Who else is wanting to volunteer to stand in the cold and rain and miss the start of every game (OK, last season, that was probably a bonus!). I don't know Ken Masters other than on nodding terms, but he works incredibly hard for the club and represents the SC shareholding, although he would be the first to admit the SC has no real power with regards to FC decisions. I'm sure KM will raise the debt question, as he did last year - maybe if more than 20 people had bothered turning up for the SC AGM, you would have heard his comments and obvious frustration with how the FC is being run currently. At this tome, there is really nothing the SC can do to influence the running of the football club - other than continue to raise funds and generally provide much-needed support. The silly comments about being an SC member to get ticket priority are just that - stupid. Season ticket holders and Share Scheme members come first, so all the best tickets are snapped up before the SC who come afterwards. I doubt anyone joins the SC for priority tickets, although being a member does entitle you to book away travel, so that is a decent benefit for the regular away followers. In short, Roady, if you feel you could improve the SC, join up and put yourself up for committee membership then we'll see how wonderful you can make the SC! And this answers one of my gripes with Ken/The SC and the positions/responsibility they have as shareholders on behalf of the fans. There is nothing stopping Ken and or The SC from addressing more than 20 people in a room. It is up to The SC to engage the fanbase if it wants to thrive and survive.
many of the criticisms that are levelled at The AQs are just as easily levelled at KM and The SC.
If the SC don't make any noise if things are wrong, why should the ordinary fan. The SC should be a vehicle to lead from the front good and/or bad
And as I will always say, that takes nothing away from the work they do and time they put in so things happen on matchdays and the like
But anyway done that argument to death for a decade or more
Peace Out

Some people like to think they know, but they don’t. Some think they know because they know someone who thinks they know, but they don’t. Some pretend they know, so that if a guess is right, they can say ‘there you are, I knew’, but they don’t. Nobody knows, except for Wael, and he don’t say much. It sometimes feels very unfriendly on here despite us all being Rovers fans. For goodness sake take your angry heads off

Sorry you feel that way and thanks for volunteering. The point roady is making though Gassince is that the top of the SC is a closed book. The committee is an old boys club and there is no way they would vote in a younger buck. Especially one that would threaten their position at the top table. I’m not saying it’s bent, but a protective fence surrounds the organ grinders. You speak of the past as if it was yesterday, but it’s been yonks since any real impact that the SC has made. That is why reform is needed. The SC could do so much more if it had a younger visionary whom the owners trusted. Sadly there has been a souring of the relationship which I’m afraid, will not recover. And it’s because of that why the SC and PC will do nothing to represent the opinions of the fans or draw an increased membership which would help evoke change. Can I thank you for your volunteer efforts though. That is to be commended and i don’t mean to sound patronising in any way when I say it. All the volunteers should be thanked. But I’m afraid the leadership is what needs to be changed.

The public face of the supporters club, the person that represents all those really hard working people who do so much selfless work for the club is unfortunately Ken Masters. Until the SC changes that they are going to struggle to convince many to change their perceptions.

Imagine being part of a hedge fund investing in the Arcadia Group and your representative goes to the AGM and never mentions a word to Philip Green about the mess his group is in, the losses and problems with the landlords................
This is basically the Supporters Club, I hope someone tomorrow night at the AGM plays the Eminem song and everyone stands up and sings “will the real Ken Masters please stand up” 😂😂😂😂
“Yes I’m here as Fans Director and Representative of the Supporters Club, our members would like answers on the £16 million debt and I’ve a list from Knowall and Padstow as well”
It ain’t happening guys but he does a lot of hard work

For those of us who weren't there, please can you give us the names involved in this scenario, as it happened in the public domain? Thank you. I was sat at the other end of the room with my back to the stage, I couldnt see anywhere near table one. But im guessing it was Hamer and Masters. Thank you. I presume the speaker was our President.

Like the 16m.we are in debt where do you think that came from.It is a loan from a bank,. Perhaps we should have a look at your accounts because you fail to realise that if you spend more than you earn you are incurring a debt no matter where the money came from but i run my business at a loss because i don't want to pay tax...... yes i know what debt is, its one of the first things i learnt when doing my degree in business management

I know one thing for sure, we were all hoping for some positive news following survival and the end of the season. Since then we have had nothing but doom and gloom ref the accounts and gossip regarding fractions at board/committee level. None of this is doing anyone any favours and quite frankly this thread sums up the internet in general. I gave up all social media two years ago as I realised that rarely did anything I read have any real meaning or substance as people like to purport that all is well and they are doing great. Hell even all the photos people post are heavily filtered and edited now. This place has become a cess pit of egos and misinformation, just like all the social media sites. Unfortunately football is an industry that people think holds kudos for them if they can say they are involved in some way. I could maybe accept that if we were a decent outfit but we are the gas ffs. That perceived kudos is one reason why it’s so hard to change an institution like the SC as incumbents can’t let go. I mean what would Ken tell his friends he does without it? Does Ken have any friends or just hangars on due to his position. An earlier post mentioned the good the SC do such as Junior Agogo and raise the roof. Well Junior is probably about 80 now and the roof raised is now corroding and in need of replacement. Have I gone off track? Anyway we all just need some positive news! UTG

He confirmed he was after two years still committed to progressing the club."Unless Wael ever suggests the debt is an issue I'm not sure what KM is supposed to actually do as an SC rep at the AGM.

And that’s the problem. He queries it, then shrugs his shoulders. When getting a brush off. What has he done about getting real answers for the SC? So the members of the SC and then the fans are in no greater knowledge of what the losses are for, how long it’s sustainable, what plans are afoot. If there was a dynamic leader at the top of the SC, maybe, just maybe that would inspire a few more to join, it would widen the net of potential fan talent, either through individual skill set or business to help drive the SC forward and work closer with the board of directors. But there is none of the above. It’s a prehistoric set up run by people of the same era. Not only that, but the leader of it has been one of the main instigators in providing misinformation to fans, knowing full well of the spread onto forums. That is not going to inspire trust from the owners. If I was Wael, I would shut them out of the lot if I knew that was happening. KM should think himself lucky he still at the top table at all.
