How about. New Keeper Little Davies Craig THD Rodman Upson Clarke New leftie New Strike JCH Subs: Jordi, Kelly, Hare, Kilgour, Ogogo, Sercombe, Nicholls or Reilly Probably an experienced keeper will be brought in to start the season but is likely to face very serious competition from the Dutch guy who looks as though he has a real presence about him.. The back four shown above is almost certainly likely to start the season with AK potentially taking over from TC by mid season. GC brought Ogogo in to be a definite starter in midfield. JCH is a definite starter, there have been some rumours of an exciting signing, not sure who that is and what position he plays. I am worried that neither JJ or DM have resigned, our manager obviously has a high regard for both.

The only players offered new contract were JC, JP and DM, so he must not be aware the former has signed for Walsall, and JP for Eastleigh, given we've let the first two leave perhaps GC wasn't really that keen on keeping any of them, given the likes of Kelly must have been given contract offers well before the end of the season?

GC said he had talked to him about coming back before he returned to Watford. How far things have gone is anybody's guess.

Where have you got that from as he was on Watford's retained list, or just to continue the mistyping did you mean to say "retained"? www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/17693442.watfords-retained-list-published-by-premier-league/

We currently have JCH, Nichols, Reilly, Payne and Moore if he re-signs. Personally I'd send Payne up to the Downs League and make Reilly available for loan, hoping he's successful and then making a permanent move in January . Moore would be fourth choice with a new signing (like Ched Evans perhaps) coming in to be first choice alongside JCH.

Whatever we have to do to get another striker in, then we have to do it. Looks a woeful lack of goals up top and we can't just rely on one striker to score because if anything happens to JCH, or his form dips, then we really are screwed.

If we sent Payne to the Downs I doubt he'd worry too much as we'd still have to pay him his full salary.

From memory I thought I had read it on here a few weeks ago. Oh, and by the way where else in my post was the mistyping you talk about me continuing?

We look to have strengthened what was already one of the best defenses in the league (and dont forget Locks aint gone anywhere yet!)and as its still early days am confident we can fill the forward and G/K vacancies, is it me or does it seem GC has more contacts within the football family to call on?

Or it could be GC's less fussy than DC, in a positive way, or prepared to pay more for individual players, or even players prefer GC over DC. It's one of those questions we'll never be able to answer but it was always a mystery how Yeovil seemed to have no problems signing players but it was always seemed a struggle for DC.

By my reckoning 10 players from last seasons 1st team squad have gone including including two loanees. We are left with arguably three players we still need to get 'shot' of - Payne, Mensah & Bennett - who will probably not figure in any selection. Mathews & Nichols are two others who ideally IMO should be moved on if possible. If they were all to go that would be fifteen players out of the door. That's a cull by anyone's standards - and so far four new players in. Bet GC is praying that the first three mentioned depart sooner rather than later.

If Locks doesn't find a club that appeals to him would the club have him back (on his big wages) having now bought in a few new defenders? I would welcome him back all day long but I'm not sure the club would be so sure purely for budgetary reasons.

Said himself he'd probably stayed 2 years too long.

He deserves it and I'm sure something will happen now the international break is over. Im still hoping for one more CB to come but I suspect we have our defence now. Hopefully Davies proves an adequate replacement but they are big boots to fill.

Now we have FOUR through the door is this how our first team looks to play the opener? John the Shotstopper THD -Craig -Davies -Little -Hare Upson Sercombe O Clarke JCH Nichols With THD and Hare providing the width Long way to go but looks OK for the middle of June In terms of building a first team, where are we now. Annsi Hare...Davies...Craig...Kilgour...Leahy Upson Ogogo. Sercombe Nichols. JCH I know there’s injuries in there but now we’ve established the 5-3-2 probably suits this squad is this our first team.
