Blimey! Come on lympstone, we’ve had 3 signings in a week. Isn’t that exciting enough for you?😉 UTG! Absolutely. Very exciting. Loved DC but always wondered why he couldn't take the GC approach and do the business early. We always seemed to get last minute uninspired deals and excuses as why his 1st choice targets wouldnt come. I get that you aren’t ever going to get everyone you want through the door as every team suffers these setbacks but GC has never been a manager before and here he is pulling aces out the hat. People slag the club and board off and hold onto what DC said re reduced budgets - but GC has started clearing the decks of deadwood very quickly and made some great signings and I have every belief we will still see another keeper, midfielder, winger and forward before the end of July. Yes I’m very excited. Think that was DC's biggest problem, he wasn't prepared to go that little bit extra that's maybe needed to get players with that extra bit of quality. He'd have his own marker of what they were worth and wouldn't budge, they'd then go on and sign for somebody else and we'd end up with 3rd/4th choice on the list. He did wonders in the Conference and signing Bodin in League 2, but his signings since we've been back in League One were pretty awful in all honsesty. I've been hugely impressed with not only GC's signings, JCH and Ogogo, but also getting players in the door early in the positions we desperately need.

Some bloke called "Conner" having a shirt made with his name on the back I think that was a Nicholas Cage fan getting Con Air on the back of their shirt.

Sounds like he is a bit dishonest with a name like Conner.

Re DCs league one signings: Tony Craig & Liam Sercombe are notable exceptions.

You are correct about DC, I also thought he was too loyal to some of the Conference winning team, and I thought he probably didn't have the contacts in Div One

The dc haters forget that although our recruitment overall was poor during the later stages of his reign he did make some good signings. Sercombe,craig,holmes-dennis,bonham and rodman for example. With gc we know that clarke-harris was a great signing and that ogogo played his part in keeping us up. Regarding little, hare, davies and the dutch keeper we simply dont know how they will perform yet.
The other thing that really makes me laugh is the "contacts" thing people blab on about. The modern game has moved on from that stuff what with agents and recruitment heads etc meaning that getting recruitment right more often than not is not dependent on who the manager is mates with! Did the barnsley manager know all about league one? or leeds boss bielsa about the championship? Oldham have appointed a foreign coach and more lower league clubs will follow that im certain. Contacts are still really useful in the gloucester county league though.
