I don't see it as great news, we were all moaning last season because of this and now 2 more have entered, I see this as bad news!

No the OP is a cheerleader for the Trophy. He's gone out of his way to promote the competition several times on here. I think it's to get attention, though. (Or he's Shaun Harvey.)

I don't care whether it's Swansea, Bridtol C**y or Man Utd, I do not want my team to be disrespected by being made to play ANY youth/reserve team in a competitive match in a competition made for lower league clubs. Friendlies? They can fill their boots, but it's an injustice and an indignity to have senior teams be told to play games only designed to train and give match fitness to youth teams and reserves in a competition they're gatecrashing.

Well you could argue that... NO NO NO hold yourself back man, do NOT get involved.

The last two performances of England in the Nation's Cup suggest that the Checkatrade Pot is not enhancing the national team.
Could be worse - wait until the next Bristol derby is in the Checkatrade Pot! v's 1982 Ltd U14's!
There is a greater chance of this happening than a League match!
My boycott will continue!

well I suppose I don't mind Prem under 21in the competition provided we can use our under 23's and first team fringe players. Only because I would love to see our no2 new Dutch goal keeper The Hoff wrap a few of those spoilt overpaid bratts from Man Utd around is goalposts when they come anywhere near his goalmouth area. I say if these little brats want to be blooded into football best do a proper job. Bookings and sending offs should not count towards the league only the competition.

How so... Just think next season you could be watching the European Champions League (although they've not won a league for about 30 years) Champions (brought to you by sky TV and coca cola) stars of the future at the Mem next season.

If I want to see stars of the future I'll watch youth team football. At the Mem playing against our senior team I want to see stars of the present who've earned the right to be playing first team football. I want to see us play competitive fixtures against clubs that actually want to win the competition as much as we and our fellow lower league clubs want to. Do Man Utd fans or Liverpool fans or even Swansea fans give 2 shits whether they win this competition? It's demeaning to clubs like us as it treats us like doormats, like second class citizens. If you are OK with that then fine for you, but personally I just do not understand how can you be.
