Admin, lock this thread now! I agree with you, although the naysayers need to have a 50/60 page rant

I have recently been talking to the club as I have offered money to do a few improvements to the stadium especially for away fans and have the following Info:- 1 Club is looking to bring in four more players mostly attacking but also a first team goal keeper, our Dutch friend will be his understudy, the squad is being slimmed down to allow more development players into first team squad, one or two of the loaned out players will not be playing for the club again, I think you can guess who. 2 Stadium, club will definitely be moving away from the Mem there is no chance of developing the stadium. Apparently good progress is being made, although I suspect it will be another three to five years before we are in the new stadium. The mem will have to be sold to help finance the new stadium. 3 Clubs debt will increase further over the last season, it was 13million but will in access of 17.5 million, however Martin Starnes and TG were brought into sort this and the club is with reduced wages and increased income from the bars, use of rooms in the week and increased sponsorship looking to break even. Owners will carry on supporting the club, although they do want to see progress. We need to get behind the club and it's owners who were to generous to the last manager, giving him what he asked for and putting us further in debt. New management structure have experience in managing clubs and are sorting these issues. Supporters need to get behind the club and be patient. Hopefully all the hard work will pay dividends in the end. so are you telling me they turned down money and improvements for supporters for the next 3-5 years!

The grass gets ever longer I guess? I'm amazed anybody still believes a word the owners hired guns tells them about any stadium plans. Let's see some actual plans rather than just talk about them. Funny Not half as funny as your yearly updates Last summer's updateDid you get any updates on what happened to last summer's promised three "bespoke" stands?

No they haven't turned down money the problem is the stadium is so poorly designed that there is little room for further improvement without knocking most of it down and starting again, can't cover anymore of the terrace, can't put seats on terraced areas they are not steep enough. Not alot you can do.

Not half as funny as your yearly updates Last summer's updateDid you get any updates on what happened to last summer's promised three "bespoke" stands? Couldn't fit the bloody things in not enough room and blocked views from Centenary stand that is why family stand I half the size it was going to be and was put in late. I know not everything turns out the way I was told it would,I do make the effort to find things out and pass them on, as there is so much that is put on here that is often just rumours.

Happy ta read this, seems pretty positive.
My only criticism would be " Fucckin tell all th supporters this information ya roasters!"
Fan's much better than me shouldn't have ta rely on second hand communication.
Other than that - Good luck WAQ!

You may mock but club said about three years but I suspect it will be at least 5, still they sounded genuine, so time will tell. I can tell you, genuinely, that I am saving to build my own house. Whether I get planning permission for it or any objections that drags it out is quite another matter entirely and totally out of my control. Talk is cheap and it is considerably cheaper than the sausage rolls at Bristol Rovers. Edit: I'm not having a go at you by the way- you posted what you heard in good faith, I just can't believe after everything Rovers fans have been through with TRASH etc. that they can be so bullish about a new stadium in 3 to 5 years. Buy a site and produce some plans first and then start giving people ideas about timescales. It just sounds like more stuff that they are coming out with just to keep the fans quiet a bit longer. We'll all get back in our baskets now and put a note for 5 years time in the calendar etc and ignore the practical realities of getting anything built in Bristol.

Isn't saying we're getting 3 "bespoke" stands also just a rumour if we don't actually get them for whatever reason? It's pretty clear who your source is and I doubt they know if the AQL's can actually raise the finance for a new stadium.

Hasn't it been suggested (confirmed?) that the training ground is linked to the stadium. I would guess a green light on the stadium will release funding but only then. What happens in the meantime? The grass gets ever longer I guess? I'm amazed anybody still believes a word the owners hired guns tells them about any stadium plans. Let's see some actual plans rather than just talk about them. I don't believe anyone on here, Topper, but happy to discuss theories, however plausible. Life is hard enough so I'd rather be a glass half full type.

I don't doubt wertongas was telling the truth of what he was told, but something clearly went tits up with those stands. They bear very little resemblance to the description wertongas was told. Hard roofs? Bespoke construction?

I think the op's comments fit pretty well with how some of us see things and doing the maths....
Just have to wait and see....

Earth years? P.S. anything about the pied off training ground? Didn't have time to ask about training ground, but as an example of bringing in extra income next week rooms are being rented out for courses and on one particular day there will be over 500 students using the rooms at the mem all bringing in extra income. been happening for several years already - nothing new

You may mock but club said about three years but I suspect it will be at least 5, still they sounded genuine, so time will tell. To be honest I couldn’t care less if they said 3 years or 20 years it doesn’t make any difference because it’s talk. Not knocking you and fair enough for sharing the info but I base what I think about the club and it’s progress on what I see and I’ll believe we’re going to be building a new stadium and selling our current one when the work begins , until then it is just talk. Same with the player situation, the training ground, all of it.

Still just a rumour though as the stands were never constructed, no worse than Knowall suggesting good news by October as that didn't happen either but could have been accurate at the time. Hopefully whoever planned the stand isn't now working on the new stadium plans or we could move into a new stadium and find it's only got one stand.
